Painting Exhibition titled 'From Steering Wheel to Canvas' by EGO Bus Driver

Kızılay Metro Art Gallery is hosting EGO bus driver Burcu Güvercin's exhibition 'From Steering Wheel to Canvas'. Opened by EGO General Manager Nihat Alkaş, the exhibition can be visited until Friday, July 9th.

EGO General Directorate fulfilled the childhood dream of bus driver Burcu Güvercin.

Burcu Güvercin, who has loved to paint since her childhood, brought together the exhibition titled 'From Steering Wheel to Canvas', which consists of paintings she made in the last 5 years, at the Kızılay Metro Art Gallery.

BRIGHT FACES OF EGO

EGO General Manager Nihat Alkaş, EGO Deputy General Managers Emin Güre and Halit Özdilek, Head of Transportation Planning and Rail System Department Serdar Yeşilyurt, Head of Service Improvement and Institutional Development Department Ayten Gök, 4th Region Bus Operations Manager Süleyman Çakır and Metro Operation. While the Branch Manager Yurtalp Erdoğdu also attended, the people of Başkent did not leave EGO bus driver Burcu Güvercin alone.

EGO General Manager Nihat Alkaş said, “I see Ms. Burcu and other female chauffeur friends as the bright faces of our General Directorate,” and made the following assessments at the opening of the exhibition:

“Working as a bus driver on the one hand and raising children on the other is not an easy task. Being behind the wheel for eight hours is really not a job for everyone, it is a stressful job. The person who can manage this stress and keep his anger under control can run his business in a healthy way. We see the best example of this in Ms. Burcu. If she can handle this difficult task with a smile and calmly, I think her painting had a big impact on that.”

Stating that they will continue to support art and artists, Alkaş said, "We are planning to open our next exhibitions at EGO Art Gallery as soon as possible."

BOTH BUS DRIVER AND PAINTER

Burcu Güvercin, who carries the people of Ankara with the bus she works on the Aktepe line every day, thanked the EGO General Directorate for her support and expressed her feelings, “I believe that all women can do whatever they want. As long as they believe, they don't give up. To fight is to hope. They should definitely try. If they want to do it, they can always spare time.”

The painting exhibition "From Steering Wheel to Canvas", consisting of 73 oil paintings, can be visited at Kızılay Metro Art Gallery until Friday, 9 July.
