In the 122nd issue of the in-house communication magazine of Turkish Aerospace Industries, information about the new cooperation within the scope of the HAVA SOJ Project was conveyed.

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) has signed a great cooperation within the scope of the HAVA SOJ project, which it will deliver to the Turkish Armed Forces by modernizing four electronic warfare special mission aircraft in total. With the agreement signed, TAI will carry out the interior cabin design, production and supply of the components and assembly of the aircraft together with TCI (Turkish Cabin Interior). TAI; continues its work without slowing down for HAVA SOJ aircraft that will perform tasks such as air defense and early warning.

“We aim to further strengthen our capability”

Within the framework of the agreement, in which the mission systems to be integrated into the Bombardier Global 6000 aircraft preferred in the HAVA SOJ project will also be produced using national resources, TAI and TCI will act in accordance with the schedule foreseen as approximately five years. In this process, engineers of the two companies will carry out joint studies.

Regarding this new agreement made for HAVA SOJ, which is a very complex and high difficulty project that can only be realized by a few companies that have a voice in the defense industry in the world, TUSAŞ General Manager Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil said the following at the signing ceremony:

“With the cooperation we have realized, we aim to further strengthen our ongoing integration and modification capability of electronic warfare aircraft. In line with the demands of our state and our armed forces, we will continue to provide the unique air platforms and special mission platforms that our country needs with national means. I would like to thank all my friends who contributed.”

Aiming to complete the interior cabin design, component production, supply and assembly work packages with TCI, TAI undertakes the main contractor of the HAVA SOJ project. Four electronic warfare special mission aircraft will be delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces as part of the HAVA SOJ project, which was launched in August 2018 in order to detect/diagnose enemy communication systems and radars, find their positions, and mix these systems so that they cannot be used against friendly elements, especially in cross-border operations.
