Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu opened the Çarkaz-Karaman section of the Bartın-Amasra-Kurucaşile-Cide Highway, to which President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also participated via video conference. In line with the vision set forth under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan; Emphasizing that they have taken giant steps in the transportation of people, cargo and data, Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “One of the heavenly corners of the Western Black Sea; We redesigned the existing 90-kilometer road connecting Zonguldak and Bartın to Amasra, Kurucaşile and Cide, with a length of 75 kilometers. Today, we are putting the 11,8-kilometer section of the said road between Çakraz and Karaman into service at the divided road standard. In this way, the 37,6-kilometer section of the route was completed as a divided road, and the 4,5-kilometer Amasra Tunnel connection was completed in a single-road standard.
“Travel time shortened by 15 minutes”
Minister Karaismailoğlu pointed out that they made the roads in mountainous and difficult geographical conditions much wider, comfortable and safer with tunnels and viaducts, and gave the following information:
“11.8 km of our 5 km road was built as a double tube tunnel. In addition, we have completed 267 meters of viaducts, 320 double bridges of 6 meters and 4 junctions in addition to these. With this road project; We shortened the road route from 14.9 km to 11.8 km and shortened it by 3,1 km. We also shortened the travel time by 15 minutes. With the completion of the entire Bartın-Amasra-Kurucaşile-Cide Road, where we are continuing the construction of the divided road, the road distance will be shortened by 15 kilometers. The cost of the Çakraz-Karaman section of our Bartın-Amasra-Kurucaşile-Cide Road project, which we have just opened, is 1 billion 455 million liras.”
