Arslantepe Mound in Malatya's Battalgazi district has been registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List as Turkey's 19th cultural property.

Arslantepe Mound in Malatya's Battalgazi district has been registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List as Turkey's 19th cultural property. In the statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;

“The application for the candidacy of Arslantepe Mound in Malatya to the UNESCO World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization is the 16th Extended Session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, which was held online on 31-2021 July 44, hosted by the city of Fuzhou, China. It was accepted after discussion and our aforementioned area was registered in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Arslantepe, which was added to Turkey's Temporary Heritage List in UNESCO in 2014 and whose history goes back approximately 6 thousand years, is accepted as a religious and cultural center where the first early state structure emerged in our geography.

With the record of Arslantepe Mound, the number of sites in our country on the UNESCO World Heritage List has reached 19. it was said.
