The Ankara-Konya High Speed Train (YHT) line became unusable due to the heavy rainfall in Ankara and the surrounding provinces. While the culverts on the line were overflowing and the rails were flooded, TCDD announced that the Ankara-Istanbul-Konya train services were canceled.
Strong thunderstorms, which have been effective since noon in Ankara and neighboring provinces, damaged the railway line.
The culverts overflowed due to precipitation on the YHT line in the Sarayönü district of Konya, and the railway was under mud and puddles. Train services were then cancelled.
TCDD teams started maintenance and repair work in the region to reopen the line.
It was stated that Ankara-Konya and Istanbul-Konya flights were mutually cancelled, and that the ticket fees were returned to the passengers without interruption.
