Infrastructure works are continuing in the 56 km Bursa-Gölbaşı-Yenişehir section of the Bandırma-Bursa-Osmaneli High Speed Train Project, 80% physical progress has been achieved, and the infrastructure works of the Bursa-Yenişehir section are planned to be completed by the end of 2021. The project works have been completed in the Yenişehir-Osmaneli section of 50 km, and 25% physical realization has been achieved in the Bandırma-Bursa section project studies. The remaining infrastructure, superstructure and electromechanical works of the project have been included in the investment program for external financing, and a tender was made for the construction works on 20.08.2020. On the other hand, the Bursa-Ankara High Speed Train Project is planned to be completed in 2023.”
“WE DID NOT GET ANSWERS TO SOME OF OUR QUESTIONS”
Demirel stated that he tried to keep the issue on the public agenda even though he could not get answers to some of his questions, and continued his words as follows:
“I am asking again after the news that there is a problem with the source and route of the Bursa High Speed Train Project, which was tendered on 20 August 2020. What has been done in a year since this tender was made? In the reply to our letter, it is stated that the Bursa-Ankara High Speed Train Project is planned to be completed in 2023. However, as everyone knows, at the groundbreaking ceremony held in Balat in 2012, to which I was personally invited, it was announced that the high-speed train would arrive in Bursa in 2016. 2016 came, the train could not come. Then, the dates 2019, 2021 were mentioned, 2019 came and passed, 2021 came and passed, there is still no train. Now we are talking about 2023.”
“THE SPEED TRAINERS SHOULD TAKE ON THE SPEED TRAIN IN 2023”
Continuing the campaign "I Want a Train to Bursa", which it started 24 years ago, without interruption, visiting 40 provinces and 22 districts during this campaign, bringing the issue to the Parliament with walks and signature campaigns, press conferences and photo exhibitions, and receiving the support of all segments in Bursa. Kemal Demirel, 22nd and 23rd Term CHP Bursa Deputy, concluded his statement as follows:
“While I am asking if the people of Bursa will take the high-speed train in 2023, I emphasize that the people of Bursa should definitely take the high-speed train in 2023. Studies should be continued in this framework. I am asking again after the news that there is a problem and I am waiting for an official statement on this issue. In the meantime, I especially ask the Minister of Transport to spend time in Bursa, which is one of the three cities that contribute the most to the country's economy, to examine the route one day. In this regard, I call out to all the dynamics of our Bursa. I want them to raise the issue on every platform because we want to take the train in Bursa in a stronger way in 3.” (Bursadominance)
