Tips for sleeping comfortably in the summer heat

It is often quite difficult to sleep well in the summer heat. Especially if your house is getting very hot and getting sun, this situation becomes even more difficult. The sweltering heat sometimes makes it impossible to even breathe.

Take a Break from Short Sleeps During the Day

In the summer, your energy may be much lower and you may feel a numbness in your body. The biggest reason for this is that most of your energy is spent on balancing the internal body temperature. The body, which is trying to cope with the heat, gets much more tired and you may feel sleepy during the day. Short naps during the day can help you stay fit, but we recommend that you save your sleep for the night in the summer months.

If you notice that your nighttime sleep is interrupted a lot, especially when you sleep during the day, you can take a nap for a while. Although this situation may force you at first, you can easily adapt to the new order as your night sleep becomes productive.

Don't Break Your Routine

The sweltering heat can make you want to change your sleep patterns. We recommend that you go to bed at the usual time instead of going to bed later at night. Remember that life did not stop because of the hot weather and your work is still going on. Considering that you will wake up at your usual time in the morning, it may not be a very good idea not to follow your nighttime sleep pattern, and insomnia can be added to your decreased energy due to the heat in the summer.

Look for Ways to Keep Your Bedroom Cool

If your room receives the sun during the day and the wind does not blow very often in your area, you can look for ways to keep your room cool. E.g; You can prevent the sun from coming directly by using dark curtains or you can consider the option of air conditioning. If you think that the air conditioner invites disease, you can position your air conditioner so that it is not directly exposed to the cold of the air conditioner. Or you can cool the house by turning on the air conditioner an hour before you go to sleep and turn the air conditioner off while you sleep.
Sleeping without a blanket is not a solution due to the heat in summer. No matter how hot the weather is, body temperature drops during sleep. You can also sweat. For this reason, you can use thin and cotton piqués. Cotton piqués will both help maintain your body temperature and allow you to sleep more comfortably by absorbing your sweat.

Regulate Your Water Consumption

In hot weather, your body loses a lot of water. Therefore, make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Have your water always within easy reach. For example, you can have your own water bowl on your desk. Drinking water will keep you balanced and save your energy.

We recommend that you drink enough water throughout the day, but not at night just before you go to sleep. Otherwise, you may need the toilet in the deepest part of your sleep, which can make it difficult for you to sleep again.

Concentrate on activities that will make you sleepy

If you're having trouble sleeping when you go to bed, don't let this anger you. The more nervous you are, the more difficult it is to fall asleep.

Instead, resort to activities such as reading a book or listening to calming music. It would be better not to watch the phone or television. Because blue light can cause you to miss your sleep more.

We also recommend that you pay attention to the drinks you consume during the day to fall asleep comfortably at night. Excessive caffeine consumption can prolong the time it takes to fall asleep.
