With the participation of the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, the foundation of the Mechanical Parking Lot Construction was laid in the Havza district of Samsun. Minister Varank said, “I have come to Samsun many times. I am very happy to see the great development of Samsun in every visit. The groundbreaking ceremony of the Mechanical Parking Lot built by Samsun Metropolitan Municipality in Havza was attended by the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, AK Party Samsun Deputy Orhan Kırcalı, Governor Assoc. Zülkif Dağlı, Metropolitan Mayor Mustafa Demir, KOSGEB President Hasan Basri Kurt, AK Party Provincial President Ersan Aksu, Havza District Governor Metin Yılmaz, Deputy Mayor of Metropolitan Municipality Nihat Soğuk, Secretary General İlhan Bayram, Deputy Secretary General Metin Köksal, Havza Mayor Sebahattin Özdemir, party organization, members of the protocol and many guests attended.

METROPOLITAN SOLUTION TO THE PARKING PROBLEM
Stating that they were together for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Havza Mechanical Car Park of the Metropolitan Municipality, which befits Samsun, Minister Varank said, “The biggest problem is parking lots due to the dense population. The roads are almost used as parking lots due to parking. On busy days, there is no opportunity to move. We see that our Metropolitan Municipality also produces a radical solution to the problem with its parking projects. When the Havza parking lot is finished, it will serve 340 vehicles. The parking lot structure also includes conventional and mechanical solutions. Indeed, we are an innovative solution in this sense. Hopefully, after a year, it will be made available to Havza. I wish good luck to our citizens in Havza," he said.
PARKING PROBLEM SOLVED IN HAVZA
In his speech, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir emphasized that a very important investment in the history of Havza was realized today. President Demir said, “We are giving Havza a magnificent car park. Hopefully, with this investment, we will have solved the parking lot and parking problem of our district to a large extent. The car park, which will be 3 floors underground, will work with a completely mechanical system. In other words, drivers will not look for a place to park their vehicles. The system will do this by itself. The system that will read the receipt will bring the car to its feet. One of the main problems of Samsun is the parking lot problem, including in the districts. Samsun is a city that receives immigration from the region. We are building 7 parking lots in the center, 1 on Wednesday and 1 in Havza.”
Noting that the works continue in Ladik, Vezirköprü and Bafra, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said, “We are working to solve the parking lot problem in a radical way. This is one of the most important pillars of this project, which we laid the foundation of today in Havza. Dear Minister, the parking lot will be built on a land of 5 thousand square meters. It will have 5 floors and a capacity of 340 vehicles. A system where 16 minibuses will park on the top. 33 of them are conventional on the ground floor. 291 of them are a system managed by mechanical software. We also have ongoing constructions in Samsun. The tender price is 38 million 600 thousand. It will radically solve the parking lot problem of Havza.”
THE CITY THAT SUCCESSFULLY HORIZONTAL DEVELOPMENT IN TURKEY
Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Demir said, "This investment is an indication of the importance and value given to the people of Havza".
“Our people deserve the best and the most beautiful of everything. We are a municipality that takes care to use software and local technology in parking. Not just parking lots. We are working with ASELSAN within the scope of our smart city project. We transform 110 intersections into adaptive intersections. We have started the construction of the project that will ease the traffic by 52 percent and we will have completed it next year. Under the leadership of our Ministry of Industry, Samsun will go to a full attack and leap. We are trying to establish the infrastructure for this today. There was a big problem with roads in 17 districts. We made a promise in the election campaign. We promised to end all these problems within 5 years. We promised. We set up our quarries. We planned for 5 years. We finish in 3.5 years. We solve not only road but also drinking water problems one by one. Even if it is 50 kilometers away, we will bring water and solve the problem of our people. We are one of the cities that have achieved horizontal development best in Turkey.”
