Natural beauty, blue bayraklı Known for its beaches and friendly people, Kandıra, the favorite district of tourism, is home to cycling enthusiasts. At the Kocaeli Tourism and Bicycle Festival, organized under the leadership of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, cyclists pedal to introduce Kandıra's places of natural touristic importance. Due to the pandemic process, 250 cyclists from home and abroad attended the festival, and all the opportunities that may be needed for the participants are met by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality.
THEY IMMORTALIZED THE SUNSET
Within the scope of the festival, which started from Kerpe and lasted for 4 days, cyclists took an evening ride to the Kerpe Kartal Rocks on the first day of the event. The ride, which attracted great interest from the people of Kerpe and vacationers, continued with applause. Cyclists who came to Kartal Rocks, watched the sunset with great pleasure, and immortalized their activities by taking thousands of photographs at the same time. Izmit Gazoz was offered to the participants by the Metropolitan. After dark, cyclists rode back to the campsite and spent the night here.
TODAY'S TARGET PINK ROCKS
Within the scope of the second day of the festival, cyclists will cycle on the Kerpe-Cebeci-Babalı-Pink Kayalar routes on the third day, on the Kerpe-Ömerağzı-Sarısu-Babaköy-Kandıra villages-Bağırganlı-Sardala Bay and on the last day on the Kerpe-Babatepe-Akçakoca Bey Tomb-Kerpe routes. At the end of the 4-day festival, the pearl of Kocaeli, Kandıra, will be discovered with pedals.
QUOTA PARTICIPATION AND TENT ACCOMMODATION
There was a quota participation in the festival, which was organized considering the pandemic process. Within the scope of the festival, regular temperature measurements, hygiene practices and frequent inspections are carried out. In the area where the hygiene stations will be established, the participants were also provided to set up their tents and stay in accordance with the social distance.
THE IMPORTANCE OF KOBIS IS EMPHASED FOR A SUSTAINABLE CITY
Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality has implemented important projects to spread the bicycle, which has many benefits in terms of both transportation and health. At the beginning of this is KOBIS, which has been operating since 2014. In addition to KOBIS, which established a repair station for the festival participants and provided technical support to the organization, natural bicycle tracks created in Kocaeli, or in other words mountain bike tracks, were mapped and offered to bicycle lovers.

29 cyclists participating in the Kocaeli Tourism and Bicycle Festival, which will be held between July 1 and August 250, are pedaling for happiness. Cyclists who have discovered Kandıra, the pearl of Kocaeli, will play a major role in promoting Kocaeli with sea, coastal and nature tourism.
NATURE TOURISM ROUTES ARE BRANDED
Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality makes a great effort to bring Kocaeli's hidden beauties to light. In this context, the walking routes determined by the Department of Culture and Social Affairs, Tourism and Natural Habitats Branch Directorate are presented to the service of nature and sports enthusiasts by signing them. As of this year, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality offers hiking, cycling, canyon crossing and camping on nature tourism tracks with a length of more than 2 kilometers.
THE LONGEST NATURE WALKING TRACKS ARE HERE
When considering the existing trails in Kocaeli, Turkey's longest nature carries the distinction of being with hiking trails Province. On the 'Zambak Yolu' route, which stretches for 80 kilometers in the coastal part of Kandıra district, a track suitable for trekking in 4 seasons has been created. The route starting from Babalı Bay, which is of historical importance on the Sakarya border; Uzunkum Nature Park, Cebeci Beach, which hosts endemic Sand Lilies, Pink Rocks, Kefken, Kerpe, Sarısu, Seyrek and Natural wonder, Sardala Bay, which has been used as a quarry since ancient times, ends at the border of Istanbul's Ağva.
