Due to the strong downpour and storm that was effective in Edirne, electricity poles fell on the wagons of the car train that brought passengers to Ayşekad Station.

Two electricity poles fell on the wagons of the train, which is also known as the car train, which is preferred by some of the expatriates who want to spend their annual leave in Turkey because they can bring their vehicles with them on their trips to their homeland, while the roofs of the surrounding buildings were thrown onto the rails.

Expatriates could not get their vehicles out of the station due to the poles falling on the wagons carrying the vehicles. Some passengers of the 143-passenger train prefer to wait in the surrounding hotels, while others continue to wait at the station.
Mehmet Demir, who came from Switzerland, told reporters that the storm broke out suddenly and knocked down the poles.

Stating that the vehicles were stuck in the wagons due to the storm, Demir said, “The apocalypse broke out all of a sudden. Storm, rain. Pieces flew off the roofs. The pillars fell. They cannot unload the vehicles because they fell on the wagon,” he said.

Selahattin Görmüş also stated that they were waiting for the cars to be unloaded, and that the storm and rain caused great damage.

The cleaning work of the teams continues.
