Three whole years have passed unjustly, depending on the indictment prepared with the reports of the experts who did not comply with the law. However, the report prepared by the Istanbul Branch of the Chamber of Geological Engineers on the disaster in Çorlu revealed the negligence. After the accident, only four defendants were tried. Families began to hold a "Justice Watch" after no action was taken against those who were negligent and responsible in the disaster, and only four people were prosecuted. But the "Justice Watch" did not bring them justice, so they had to deal with investigations.

Uzunköprü-Halkalı It has been three years since the passenger train that made the expedition toppled in the Sarılar village between Muratlı and Çorlu districts of Tekirdağ, costing the lives of 25 people. Families of those who lost their lives in the third year of the disaster spoke.

In the first place they stole my son from me, they stole my life. A life full of dreams has been replaced by another life now spent struggling. Investigations, lawsuits, courts came into my life for the legal struggle. It was something I never knew. Also, while we used to celebrate special days with joy with my son, now we spend those special days in the cemetery. Does it happen in the cemetery on the birthday of a human being? It would. This has fallen to us in this life," he said.

“We Left Three Huge Years Behind Unjustly”

“There were four defendants before us and there was not a single pre-trial detainee. We have left behind three whole years unjustly, depending on the indictment prepared with the report prepared by the experts who did not comply with the law," said Sel, adding, "We families, our lawyers, and journalists who supported us were prosecuted more than those who killed 25 people. Today, TCDD still continues to spread death on the rails and the judiciary unfortunately cannot hold accountability for these deaths.”

“Our Effort Doesn't Hurt Other Lives”

Özgenur and Gülce Dikmen's mother, Funda Dikmen, said: “During the court, the hardships we were subjected to, the way we were treated like criminals, their attempts to wear us out did not destroy us; However, the fact that our allegations were true from the very beginning in this case has given us hope. Our effort should not hurt other souls. We are hurt, I will not be able to bring my daughters back, but our struggle will continue until the end so that other Özge's, Gülce's, Sena's, mothers and fathers do not get hurt. They will not be able to harass us.”

“Justice Process for My Daughter and 25 Lives is Sadly Too Heavy”

Sena Köse's mother Aysun Köse: Although three years have passed, nothing has changed. The pain is the same pain. Always fresh like the first day. The more you miss, the more it increases, it becomes more burning. If this disaster had not happened, my daughter would have taken the university entrance exam as well. I messed up on exam days. I was very angry at everything. I burned in your dreams. He loved his school, his lessons, especially mathematics. Unfortunately, the justice process for my daughter and 25 lives is very heavy. While everything is clear to us, this slow progress is wearing us out. I would like to thank everyone who stood by us, made us stand upright, and shared our pain.
