The Beijing Olympic Games Organizing Committee (BOCOG) has officially handed over the project of the International Broadcasting Center (IBC), part of the Main Media Center (MMC), to Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS).
The Main Media Center, located south of the China National Convention Center in Beijing, was prepared by integrating the traditional Main Press Center (MPC) and the International Broadcasting Center. Xu Jicheng, General Manager of BOCOG Media Operations Department, stated that 15 registered reporters and 12 broadcast personnel will participate in the games and that more than 4 billion viewers will watch the Olympics on TV.
OBS CEO Yiannis Exarchos described the quality and design of the National Convention Center as “amazing” and stated that the delivery of the International Broadcasting Center project marks the beginning of OBS's activities in Beijing.
