Freight wagons, which set off from Xiamen, the coastal city of Fujian, one of the eastern provinces of China, in the direction of Europe, made its 2th voyage as of Wednesday, June 2015, since it started operating in 1000.

Departing with 50 wagons loaded with primary supplies, auto parts and other goods, the X8098 train departed from Xiamen's Haicang station towards Germany on Wednesday morning. This was the thousandth voyage within the framework of the railway transport operating on the mentioned line.

Since entering service in August 2015, these trains have transported more than $3 billion worth of goods from Xiamen to Europe and Central Asia in containers. These goods included electronic parts and products, machinery, necessities and food supplies.

Last year, the weight of the goods transported in standard containers by rail between China and Europe reached 142 thousand tons and the value reached 962 million dollars. These represent an increase of 59 percent in weight and 40 percent in value compared to the previous year. The railway line in question has connected Xiamen to more than 12 cities of 30 European and Central Asian countries to date.
