Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu attended the Mardin-Midyat Road groundbreaking ceremony. Stating that the project will support the "holistic development" activities they target, especially tourism and agriculture, and make transportation safer, Minister Karaismailoğlu said, "With the completion of the project, a total of 23,7 million TL per year, 10 million TL from time and 33,7 million TL from fuel oil. We will save TL," he said.

“We are starting to work on turning the Mardin-Midyat Road into a fully divided highway”

Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that they are working in line with the needs and demands of the people of Mardin and gave the following information about the Mardin-Midyat Road, which will accelerate the development of Mardin:

“We are starting to work on turning the Mardin-Midyat Highway, which currently serves as a divided highway of 17,7 kilometers and a section of 41,1 kilometers to a single-road standard, into a fully divided highway. We will build a new 23 kilometer-long BSK paved road with 58,8 intersections. By raising the physical and geometric standards of the existing road, we will establish a much safer and more comfortable transportation opportunity between Mardin and Midyat. We will provide an uninterrupted and faster traffic flow. With the completion of the project, we will save 23,7 million TL annually, 10 million TL from time and 33,7 million TL from fuel. We will also contribute to the prevention of environmental pollution by reducing the exhaust emissions of vehicles to the environment by 4 thousand 13 tons.”

Minister Karaismailoğlu reminded that they laid the foundation of Kızıltepe-Ceylanpınar Road in Mardin on March 26; he said:

“We are starting the Kızıltepe Ring Road in the coming days. Every new road built is like streams. They add life to the employment, production, trade, culture and art of the places they pass through. Safe, fast and easy transportation; It is the most important component of trade, production and export. Because being at the right time, in the right place, with the right amount is the golden rule of trade. With our Mardin Midyat road, Kızıltepe Ceylanpınar road and Kızıltepe ring road, we will make significant contributions to the growth of the economic volume in the region by facilitating the transportation of agricultural and industrial products produced in our region with increasing commercial activities to foreign markets within the country and through the border gates.”

“We connected Mardin to Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır, Şırnak and Batman with divided roads”

Minister Karaismailoğlu, who also visited the AK Party Mardin Provincial Presidency within the scope of the Mardin program and made a speech there, said, “As the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, we have invested approximately 4 Billion Liras for the transportation and communication infrastructure of Mardin. While there were only 2003 kilometers of divided roads in 28, we built 235 kilometers and reached a total of 263 kilometers. We connected our city to Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır, Şırnak and Batman with divided roads. We are strengthening not only the highways of Mardin, but also the transportation networks in all other modes. We have a promise made to Mardin. We set out on the road saying 'Our greatest joy is the happiness of our citizens'. There is no fatigue for us in the services we have done or will do for the future of Mardin and its districts. We have never stopped for Mardin until now, and we will not stop hereafter. As AK Staff, we have more time to spend together for Mardin and its districts," he said.

Minister Karaismailoğlu, who first visited the Mardin Governorate within the scope of the Mardin program, then moved to the AK Party Mardin Provincial Presidency and met with the party members. Afterwards, attending the groundbreaking ceremony of the Mardin-Midyat Road, Karaismailoğlu will visit the Zekiye Midyat Women's Family Center and then the Midyat Municipality. Karaismailoğlu, who will visit the AK Party Midyat District Presidency and meet with the party members, will then visit the Mor Gabriel Monastery. Karaismailoğlu will then continue his program with a visit to the Midyat Culture House.
