Ordu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OTSO) President Servet Şahin said that the Samsun-Sarp Railway Project should pass through Ordu and Giresun for the economy of the region, and that this would stimulate the economy.

OTSO President Servet Şahin noted that in Ordu, where great progress has been made in the field of transportation in recent years, Samsun-Sarp Railway must pass. Şahin pointed out that the most expensive thing in trade is transportation and that railway transportation is less costly than the highway, and that this railway is important in sending the products produced in Ordu to other provinces and even to other countries, and all the heads of chambers from Ordu to Rize are of this opinion. stated that.

“When the Black Sea-Mediterranean road is finished, we will also want a railway”

President Servet Şahin, mentioning that the railway project, which is both economical and requires less maintenance, will bring to the city, said, "Both the trade sector and the connection point of the railway will be the road to China. Maybe we will send the hazelnuts to China by cargo by rail. We will send other products we produce to China and other countries. Our Silk Road expeditions have started and the products produced go as far as China. This road will enable a product produced in Ordu to reach Iskenderun in 5-6 hours. When the Black Sea-Mediterranean road is finished, we will also want a railway on that road line. Because this road gives movement to 42 provinces. When this road opens, it will be faster and cheaper to transport by rail. We already have to weave Turkey with iron nets. We never use the seaway anyway. Our seaway must be opened as soon as possible. There should be direct flights to Istanbul from Rize, Ordu, Giresun and Trabzon. Because the cost of the seaway is one fourth of the cost of the highway,” he said.

Şahin pointed out that a lot of investments were made in infrastructure in the region and that these investments were significantly high, and stated that it should be moved further.
