Konya Metropolitan Municipality organizes a photography contest themed "Konya, the City of Bicycle" in order to encourage the use of the bicycle, which is an economical, environmentally friendly and healthy means of transportation. The deadline for the competition, which will be held for the first time in the cycling field in Konya, is 20 August.
Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that Konya, the city of bicycles, which has 550 kilometers of bicycle paths and hosts important applications for bicycle users to find comfortable driving in traffic, is one of the most suitable cities for cycling due to its geographical feature.
President Altay said that they have carried out exemplary works in Turkey to spread the use of bicycles to large masses due to its features such as energy efficiency, being an environmentally friendly and healthy means of transportation, and said, “This time, we are organizing a photography contest to bring bicycles together with the art of photography. With this competition, which we will organize for the first time, we wish to raise awareness on this issue by increasing the existing cycling culture in Konya. We invite all amateur or professional photographers to participate in the competition.” he said.
5 thousand TL for the first place, 4 thousand TL for the second, 3 thousand TL for the third; The application deadline for the competition, in which a monetary award of 1.000 TL will be given as honorable mention, has been determined as 20 August 2021.
