President of the Presidency of Defense Industry Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir announced that the Leopard 2A4 tanks in the inventory of the Land Forces Command have started the integration of domestic armor packages designed and produced in accordance with the modern combat environment.
President Demir made the following statements in his social media accounts regarding the armor package produced for the Leopard 2A4 tanks.
“As part of our effort to increase the capabilities of the Leopard 2A4 tanks in the KKK inventory in accordance with the modern combat environment, we started the mass production of the armor package designed and produced at the Ballistic Protection Center in Roketsan and started its integration into the tanks.
Developed in different configurations for turret and hull compartments according to threat analysis, the armor package still has the most effective ballistic protection used in Leopard 2A4 tanks in the world's armies. Tanks modernized with domestic and national systems are at the service of Mehmetçik!”
