Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that very important investments have been made for the development of transportation and communication infrastructure in Mardin, as in every province of Turkey, and noted that they have spent approximately 2003 billion liras on the transportation and communication infrastructure of Mardin since 4. Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that the Mardin-Midyat Road, in its current form, serves 17,7 kilometers of divided road and 41,1 kilometers of it serves as a single road, and said that they have started work to make the road a fully divided road. Expressing that they will build a new 23 kilometer-long BSK-coated road with 58,8 junctions on it, Minister said, “By raising the physical and geometric standards of the existing road, we will establish a much safer and more comfortable transportation opportunity between Mardin and Midyat.”

Noting that with the completion of the project, a total of 23,7 million liras will be saved, 10 million liras from time and 33,7 million liras from fuel oil, our Minister stated that the exhaust emissions of vehicles to the environment will be reduced by 4 thousand 13 tons, contributing to the prevention of environmental pollution.

General Manager of Highways Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, on the other hand, noted that the Mardin-Midyat Road will be upgraded to the divided road standard, increasing the traffic safety on the route and providing road users with a more comfortable and faster travel opportunity. Uraloğlu, within the scope of the main work items of the project, which will contribute to the growth of the economic volume in the region, 2,5 million cubic meters of earthwork, 95 thousand cubic meters of ferrous and non-ferrous concrete, more than 4 thousand tons of reinforced concrete, approximately 1 million 350 thousand tons of plantmix foundation and sub-base and 660 thousand tons. He said that there is a production of bituminous hot mix.

Reminding that they have strengthened the road network in Siirt with the recently put into use Likedik Bridge, in Şırnak with the Cudi Mountain Tunnels and Viaduct, in Batman with the Hasankey-2 Bridge, in Şanlıurfa with the Çevikkuvvet Köprülü Junction, and in Diyarbakır with the Devegeçidi Bridge, the General Manager Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said, “By completing the Ankara-Niğde Highway, we have connected the entire Southeastern Anatolia Region to Europe via Ankara and Istanbul with uninterrupted highway comfort. After the speeches, with the participation of Minister Karaismailoğlu, General Manager Uraloğlu and the guests, the foundation of the road was laid and the work started.
