Metro Istanbul, one of the subsidiaries of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), showed its determination to evaluate with the EFQM Model by signing the National Quality Movement Goodwill Declaration with the Turkish Quality Association (KalDer).

Turkey's largest urban rail system operator, Metro Istanbul, continues to take new steps in order to provide better quality service to 16 million Istanbul residents. The company initiated the work of the EFQM 2020 Model in order to further improve its management and business processes by increasing the level of corporate maturity and sustainable corporate success. Finally, in line with this purpose, Metro Istanbul; The National Quality Movement Goodwill Declaration was signed with the Turkish Quality Association (KalDer), which is the Turkey representative of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM).

The signing ceremony hosted by Metro Istanbul General Manager Özgür Soy; Filiz Öztürk, KalDer Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Sabri Bülbül, KalDer Secretary General, as well as Metro Istanbul senior management attended.

Stating that the agreement they signed with KalDer is important for them, General Manager Özgür Soy said, “We support every step taken to improve the business processes of Metro Istanbul. In this sense, we find the EFQM model important. We believe that the model will allow us to evaluate ourselves and our business processes from a different perspective. As Turkey's leading urban rail system operator, we aim to continue our work in line with the EFQM Model in order to become one of the leading companies in Europe and the world in our journey to become a high-performance institution, and we aim for excellence for the continuous improvement in the quality of service we provide to Istanbul residents.

First of all, with the EFQM model; Noting that they aim to maintain passenger satisfaction in order for the company to grow independently of external conditions in the crisis environment, Özgür Soy said, “We are aware that people are temporary and institutions are permanent. For this reason, we want to implement a sustainable management model and a corporate system where even our grandchildren who use the metro lines in Istanbul can enjoy the fruits of it 50 years later.”
