While building an environmentally friendly transportation network; ecological bridges do not divide the life of wild animals. These road projects contribute positively to biodiversity by allowing animals to move freely from one side of the road to the other.
Northern Marmara Highway Project Within the scope of the scope of the project, an “Ecological Bridge” was built in Uskumruköy in order to enable wild animal species to continue their lives without being affected by the highway.
Istanbul – Izmir Highway Project Within the scope of the scope of the project, the green areas were passed through tunnels and viaducts and the corridors belonging to wildlife were protected, while the habitats of wild animals were protected with 2 ecological overpasses built in order to ensure the passage of wild animals and the continuity of the species.
Kınalı – Tekirdağ – Çanakkale – Savaştepe HighwayIn line with the measures in the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Report, which was prepared in order to minimize the impact on the environment during the construction of the Malkara-Çanakkale Section in Turkey, the opinions of the authorized institutions in this field and the Fauna experts of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Biology Department were taken to ensure an ecological transition. The construction of an ecological overpass with a width of 40 meters continues.
Tarsus – Pozantı HighwayThe first wildlife bridge in Turkey, with priority for wildlife crossing, serves on the 30th km of this highway that connects the Gülek Strait and the Mediterranean. The bridge, which was built on the highway that passes through the Mersin Regional Directorate of Forestry, Çamalan Forestry Operations Directorate and connects the Gülek Strait and the Mediterranean Sea to Central Anatolia, was renovated with the cooperation of Mersin Regional Directorate of Forestry and the 5th Regional Directorate of Highways and organized as the "Forest Ecosystem Bridge".
İzmir–Çeşme HighwayIn Istanbul, 3 of the 1 ecological bridges designed to ensure the continuity of natural life has been completed and put into service, while the construction work on 2 bridges continues.
