Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, together with Chief of General Staff General Yaşar Güler, Land Forces Commander General Ümit Dündar, Air Force Commander General Hasan Küçükakyüz and Naval Forces Commander Admiral Adnan Özbal to follow the test launch of the "Atmaca" guided missile developed by Roketsan to an surface target. Welcomed by Governor Erol Karaömeroğlu and other officials at Sinop Airport, Minister Akar departed for the port from there.
A briefing on the activity was given to Minister Akar and TAF Command, who were welcomed by the Commander of the Navy, Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu, on the corvette TCG KINALIADA, the national ship where the launch will take place.

After the briefing, Minister Akar and the Commanders went to the War Operations Center of the ship, where they followed the "extremely special and meaningful" shot of the Naval Forces Command.
It was stated that the necessary precautions were taken before the shooting, the shooting was made in the designated area, and the field safety was fully ensured.
Within the scope of the shooting scenario, a ship that was scrapped by the Naval Forces Command was targeted. Following the instructions of the Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, the ship in question was hit with a direct hit with the fire from TCG KINALIADA. With the images transferred from two F-16s and reconnaissance aircraft in the region, every moment of the shooting was followed instantly from the operations center. The moment the missile hit the target with full accuracy, it was greeted with great enthusiasm in the Combat Operations Center.
Addressing the personnel by radio after the successful shooting, Minister Akar said, “I congratulate you. We will continue to work at the same intensity and pace from now on, and hopefully we will experience many more successes.” said.
The Atmaca Guided Missile, developed by Roketsan, draws attention with its 220 kilometers range and advanced guidance system. The guided missile can be used against fixed and mobile surface targets.
