Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu met with Angolan Transport Minister Ricardo Viegas d'Abreu in his office. Expressing that he wholeheartedly believes that this visit, which is a first in the field of transportation and infrastructure, will contribute significantly to the relations between the countries, Karaismailoğlu said, “It is also important that we come together before the visit of the President of Angola, which is planned to be made to our country at the end of July, upon the invitation of our President. These visits will allow the current economic and cultural relations between our countries and peoples to progress at a speed never before possible.”

Noting that there are experienced and successful companies operating in the field of port management in other countries, Karaismailoğlu said, "We are ready to share knowledge and experience in this regard, and we support the cooperation of private sectors."

Explaining that they were pleased to learn that Angolan has a comprehensive investment portfolio in the field of railway infrastructure, Karaismailoğlu said that in the process before the construction of very important railway projects that will connect Angola from the ports to the east and beyond, its border neighbors to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia and Namibia. Stating that they are ready to cooperate with Angola in every mode of transportation, Karaismailoğlu said, “On the Civil Aviation side, the agreements that Turkish Airlines will make with Angola, the agreements we will make on the Civil Aviation side will make a significant contribution to our relations with Angola. A draft text on the Bilateral Air Transport Agreement has already been prepared to establish the legal basis for this. We expect the working groups to be agreed and finalized as soon as possible.”

Explaining that Turkey attaches great importance to the development of its relations with African countries in the political, economic, commercial, social and cultural fields, Karaismailoğlu said: “In our relations with Angola, as our President has expressed at every opportunity, 'As Turkey, we are committed to winning together in every country in which we exist. Our country is ready to cooperate with the private sector, which has extensive experience in all areas that Angola, which is in the process of reform and restructuring, may need for the development of its infrastructure, in the African continent and in the world.”
