Within the scope of the tram line to be extended from Beachyolu to Kuruçeşme, the work carried out by the Metropolitan Municipality has accelerated on the road that will provide transportation from the D-100 Izmit western toll booths area to Kuruçeşme. The old road, which is the route of the tram line, will be closed after the completion of the new road under construction. Vehicle traffic to Kuruçeşme will be provided by the new road built in the western toll booths area. The tram line will pass through the existing road.
THE ROAD IS EXPANDED
Metropolitan Municipality is expanding its rail system network by giving priority to public transportation. In this context, the existing Akçaray Tram Line in Izmit District will pass from the Plajyolu Station to the opposite side of the D-100 and connect to Kuruçeşme. The Metropolitan Municipality, which carries out expansion works on the 900-meter-long road that goes from Izmit western toll booths to Kuruçeşme, is carrying out its works quickly with an intense overtime. Vehicle traffic will flow over the D-2 in the direction of Kuruçeşme, Derince and Körfez from the new road, which will be expanded and asphalted by adding 100 extra lanes.
WORKS ACCEPTED
The Metropolitan Municipality, which has increased the pace by increasing the number of construction equipment in order to complete the new road as soon as possible, will provide a connection from the western toll booths area to the D-100 direction and rearrange the Kuruçeşme junction. The tram line will pass through the road where the current vehicle traffic is made.
2 PEDESTRIAN BRIDGES WILL BE MADE
Within the scope of the project, foundation piles for the pedestrian bridge to be built in front of Acıbadem Hospital started to be driven. Within the scope of the project, two pedestrian bridges will be built in front of Acıbadem Hospital and in front of Izmit High School. The tram line to be built between Plajyolu Kuruçeşme will pass from the Plajyolu stop to the Kuruçeşme junction with a 100 meter steel tram bridge over the D-332, and within the scope of the 812 meter double line tram line project in total, 1 station and 2 pedestrian bridges will be built.
OLD PEDESTRIAN BRIDGES TO BE DESTROYED
At the entrance to Kuruçeşme, the old bridges in front of the Gümüşhaneliler Foundation and in front of the İzmit High School will be demolished and two new steel construction pedestrian bridges will be built in their place. Acıbadem pedestrian bridge, which will be manufactured as approximately 59 meters of steel construction, and a new 52 meters long steel construction pedestrian bridge will be built in front of Izmit High School.
