There has been a new development in the project, which is planned to be built as an alternative to the existing highway in the western districts of Antalya, and was named “Finike-Demre-Kaş-Kalkan State Road” with the report published by the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization on 11 June.
In the circular sent by the General Directorate of Highways to the Finike Municipality on Monday, June 21, it was stated that no construction activities will be carried out and the use of the existing highway will continue in the part of the Finike district, which will affect 25 thousand orange trees and approximately a thousand decares of land.
The project, which came to the agenda with the merging of two separate projects, namely between Kaş-Kalkan and between Finike-Demre and the start of a new EIA process, was met with a harsh reaction by the local people and environmental platforms, with the thought that it would cause great destruction in the natural and cultural area.
EIA meetings will be held on July 1
The first of the EIA meetings will start on July 1, 2021 at the Turan Erdoğan Yılmaz Science High School Meeting Hall in Kaş-Kalkan (Akbel) at 11.30 am. The second meeting will start at 15.00:XNUMX on the same day at the Municipality Conference Hall in Gökyazı Neighborhood in Demre.
