Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality does not get enough of the awards with the projects it prepares. The "Public Transportation Trip Analysis with Electronic Toll Collection System (Kocaelikart) Data" project used in public transportation was awarded the "Municipality" award within the scope of SUMMITS International AUS Summit's Way of Mind in Transportation Awards.
“MUNICIPALITY” AWARD
Ahmet Çelebi, Head of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department, attended the award ceremony held within the scope of the 8th International Istanbul Smart Grids and Cities Congress and Fair held in Istanbul. This success of Kocaeli, which is the only province in Turkey with an Electronic Toll Collection System in all its districts, has not been ignored. Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality was deemed worthy of the “Municipality” award within the scope of the SUMMITS International AUS Summit, the Way of Reason in Transportation Awards, which was held within the scope of the 8th International Istanbul Smart Grids and Cities Congress and Fair.

In the project carried out by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality for the purpose of sustainable public transportation by analyzing public transportation data very quickly with an innovative perspective, the line, by considering the daily, weekly and monthly journeys of citizens holistically, through the free program used by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality for the first time in Turkey, district, neighborhood and station-based public transportation movements are examined. After this review, the current situation is analyzed and reports are created to support the decisions to be taken on how future travel demands will be and what precautions can be taken.
SATISFACTION FOCUSED
In this way, public transportation demands and behaviors are determined based on data and improvements are made for these demands. In public transport analysis, it is aimed to increase the use of public transport by our citizens by trying to maximize the level of service and satisfaction by using the available resources more efficiently.
