Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk answered questions about the agenda in education in the live broadcast of TVNET Channel. Making an evaluation about make-up education, Minister Selçuk said, “We have created an opportunity for each of our children and question packages are delivered. Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk answered the questions about the education agenda in the garden of "Anatolian Tales Eskişehir Fairy Tale House" in the live broadcast of TVNET Channel, where he was the guest.
Stating that the efforts to increase the number of fairy tale houses are continuing, Minister Selçuk said, “We want our children to receive the Anatolian culture genuinely through fairy tales. The tale is healing. Millions of our children will listen to our tales. It will be a great service to our culture.” used the phrases.
Reminding that they gave storytelling training and certificates to around 300 thousand teachers, Selçuk also evaluated the LGS central exam:
“We are very concretely aware of what we are doing. We have the strongest measurement and evaluation team in Turkey. We have a strong infrastructure for our children preparing for this exam. As of August 31, 2020, each of our children who want to prepare for this exam can participate in a face-to-face study about these lessons from the teachers at their school or at a nearby school. In Turkey, a child takes this exam only once. Since there is no repetition, we want it to enter with all kinds of opportunities. We publish sample questions every month. Apart from that, we repeat the same lessons on television. Teachers retell the same topic in their live lessons. There are opinions that questions about mathematics are a bit difficult. Especially if these opinions come from the children and the teacher, they have another value for me. Could it be any easier? Of course it could be, but there is also a ranking here. Children enter here in a certain order. We have a hard time sorting when it's too easy. Children are placed according to their date of birth. That doesn't seem fair to us."
“All our teachers have vaccination appointments”
Minister Selçuk, on the question about the process of giving the new type of Kovid-19 vaccine to the teachers, reminded that the vaccination of the teachers started in February after the health workers and said:
“Our Honorable Minister of Health also announced this. The appointment process for the vaccination of all our teachers has been completed. Vaccination appointments of all our teachers in public and private schools were opened last week. The process is ongoing in this regard. In a very short time, in just a few weeks, this is completed. Special thanks to our healthcare workers. Because we worked very closely and in cooperation on this issue, and a good result came out. By September, he will already be 18 years old, as announced by the Ministry of Health. Hopefully, we intend to open our schools full-time at the beginning of September in the coming period and do our education face-to-face, and we are working accordingly.”
Pointing out that there is a tendency to keep schools more open throughout the world, Selçuk said, “There are very rare countries that have closed them completely. Among OECD countries like us, there are also countries that close a lot. We are also in the top 5.” said.
Minister Selçuk stated that they have worldwide experience in distance education and said, “EBA's being the first in the world did not happen out of the blue. A very serious infrastructure work has been done. When we look at the world about this, there are 2-3 countries that have televisions that can broadcast on the basis of courses.” he said.
In addition to the make-up training, which will start on July 5, Minister Selçuk also gave information about the story books prepared within the scope of the "Story of the Heroes of Çanakkale" in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to keep the spirit of Çanakkale alive.
