Marmaris is Turkey's 7th and Muğla's 2nd free public beach. İçmeler Free Public Beach was put into service.

The public beach, which was opened with a ceremony attended by Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Nadir Alpaslan, Governor of Muğla Orhan Tavlı and AK Party Muğla Deputy Yelda Erol Gökcan, has the international Blue Flag award as well as its disabled and nature friendly concept.

Stating that the Safe Tourism Certification Program initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism was also implemented at the 5-star public beach, which was opened in Marmaris, Deputy Minister Nadir Alpaslan said that the guests can use the beach with peace of mind.

Stating that Turkey has been on the rise in tourism for 40 years and that it is a country that the world looks up to with envy, Alpaslan said, “Tourism means employment, foreign exchange and the welfare of our people. Every part of Turkey offers great potential in terms of tourism. Our nature is extraordinarily beautiful. This paradise does not exist anywhere. Unfortunately, the Covid-19 outbreak has affected our tourism. Under the auspices of our President, as the Ministry, we supported our tourism sector and tried to spend it in the most correct way, with the least loss.” said.

Emphasizing that the Safe Tourism Certificate they started after the epidemic was an example to the world and that they continued to implement it by updating it, Alpaslan noted that the program was implemented without compromise, and tourism enterprises were inspected four times a month in line with the program criteria.

Pointing out that with the program, local and foreign tourists follow all their processes in the healthiest way, Alpaslan continued his words as follows:

“We explained this very well to the world. While countries in the Mediterranean basin such as Italy and Spain, which are rival countries in tourism, closed the year 2020 with a loss of 80 percent, we, as Turkey, lost 65 percent. The epidemic process has shown that the world will no longer be the same. We will continue to update the healthy and safe certificate program.”

In his speech, Alpaslan pointed out that they have increased the number of public beaches since 2019; He said that after Bodrum, Manavgat and Kemer, they added a public beach to Marmaris.

After the speeches, the Blue Flag of the beach was hoisted.

Culture and Tourism Minister Nadir Alpaslan and his accompanying delegation, İçmeler He toured the beach with a length of 400 meters and a capacity of 7 sunbeds on an area of XNUMX thousand square meters.
