Izmir Metropolitan Municipality continues its works to complete the tunnel and viaduct project that will provide a connection between Buca and Izmir Intercity Bus Terminal without entering the city traffic. 2 percent of the construction of 2 viaducts, 1 highway underpasses and 40 overpass, constituting the first phase of the giant project, has been completed. President Soyer said, “We aim to complete the connection road, which will cost 41 million 281 liras, by the end of the year.”

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality continues its works to complete the construction of the viaducts that will connect the "longest highway tunnel of Izmir" to be opened between Buca and Bornova and the bus station. 850 viaducts, 2 underpasses and 2 overpass are being built on the 1-meter route within the scope of the First Stage supply work of the Connection Road Between Buca Onat Street and the Intercity Bus Terminal and the Ring Road. 40% of the construction has been completed.

The aim is to facilitate transportation in the city.

Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer Stating that they aim to complete the connection road, which will cost 41 million 281 liras, by the end of the year, he said, "One of the most important problems of İzmir is traffic. Our goal is to facilitate transportation in the city and shorten travel times by realizing such big investments as well as regulations at critical points."

Next is tunnel tender

The Metropolitan is also preparing to go out to tender next month for the completion of the unfinished tunnel construction. Izmir's longest tunnel will be built within the scope of the second phase of the “Buca-Onat Street and Intercity Bus Terminal and Ring Road Connection Road Project”. The length of the deep double tube tunnel will be 2,5 kilometers and it will serve as a total of four lanes, 2 departures and 2 arrivals. The tunnel is 7,5 meters high and 10,6 meters wide.

The bus station will be reached without entering the city traffic

With the tunnel and viaduct project on the 7,1 kilometer route, the districts of Çamlık, Mehtap, İsmetpaşa, Ufuk Ferahlı, Ulubatlı, Mehmet Akif, Saygı, Atamer, Çınartepe, Merkez, Zafer, Birlik, Koşukavak, Çamkule, Meriç, Yeşilova and Karacaoğlan are crossed and Bornova Kemalpaşa A connection will be provided to the Otogar from the Street Vehicles passing through the longest tunnel of İzmir via Homeros Boulevard and Onat Street will be able to reach the Bus Station and the ring road without getting into the heavy traffic of the city.
