The Metropolitan Municipality has started the ground survey work on the Light Rail System Project, which Diyarbakır residents have been waiting for a long time.

The Metropolitan Municipality continues to work on the Light Rail System Project to provide cheap, safe and comfortable transportation services to the citizens.

Within the scope of the project works on the Rail System Line between Dağkapı-Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital, which the Transportation Department plans to put into service in 2023, it will conduct geological-geotechnical surveys on the ground and report it.

In the tram project, which will be 14.1 kilometers long and will consist of 23 stations, the teams have been conducting drilling studies since June 6 to reveal the geological model of the rail system route and to obtain its geotechnical parameters.

74 ground exploration drillings will be carried out along the route of the light rail system, which will change the face of the city and carry approximately 342 passengers daily when it is put into operation.

As a result of the ground survey works to be carried out on the route determined by the Metropolitan Municipality for the tram, strengthening works will be carried out in places with bad ground.

The Department of Transportation will complete the ground surveys for the light rail system within 7 days.
