The nursery, which is designed for the use of visually, hearing and physically disabled children in the 0-3 age group, will also have the feature of being a "Green Building". The construction of the nursery is expected to be completed in January 2022.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş has implemented the "Handicapped Home and Child Park" project so that disabled children can adapt to social life and learn and play like their peers.

PORTAS, a subsidiary of the Metropolitan Municipality. Inc. The construction works of the "Accessible Home and Accessible Children's Park" project, whose tender was held on July 27, 2020, are continuing. The construction of the nursery is expected to be completed in January 2022.

GREEN BUILDING THAT PRODUCES ITS ENERGY

On the roof of the building, which will produce some of its energy with solar panels, there is also an agricultural area where children can play with the soil and grow seeds.

The nursery, where rain water will be stored and reused, was designed as a “green building” with its environmentalist feature. The nursery was built on a plot of 5 square meters in Çayyolu Neighborhood; It will have approximately 600 square meters of indoor usage area (3 thousand 150 square meters of floor area), 2 thousand square meters of barrier-free playground, 250 square meters of agricultural area, 2 square meters of courtyard and amphitheater.

0-3 AGE GROUP DISABLED AND NON-DISABLED CHILDREN CAN BENEFIT

The 'U' shaped building, which will have a low-rise and horizontal architecture with a capacity of 300 people, is designed to be used by visually, hearing and physically impaired children in the 0-3 age group, while children without disabilities can also benefit from the nursery.

In the area of ​​Accessible Nursery and Accessible Children's Park; There will be 65 classrooms with a size of 9 square meters, indoor playgrounds of 65 square meters in front of the classrooms for each disabled group, a dining hall, guidance service, infirmary, meeting hall, terrace, cafeteria, administrative units and technical volumes.

Stating that the Metropolitan Municipality has demonstrated the importance it attaches to children with the principle of social municipality, PORTAŞ A.Ş. Deputy General Manager Okan Evliyaoğlu gave the following information:

“We use sustainable materials and products that do not contain volatile organic materials in this project. We have a system that collects rain water and we have a system where we can use this water for landscape irrigation and gray water use. A facility that can meet 20 percent of its own energy. The project aims to obtain a green building certificate in the gold category. We create an environment where children can breathe fresh air indoors. We are happy to provide our children with a healthy and comfortable facility.”

OBSTACLE-FREE CAPITAL TARGET

The toys to be placed in the playground will be designed in accordance with the use of other children as well as disabled children. Children will be able to socialize by playing and spending time together in the same environment.

Pointing out that thanks to the kindergarten built in line with the concept of “Accessible Capital”, PORTAŞ A.Ş. will create an environment where all children will learn to share. Deputy General Manager Sefer Yılmaz also made the following assessments:

“Our barrier-free kindergarten project was initiated by PORTAŞ A.Ş. under the leadership of our Mayor, Mr. Mansur Yavaş. was designed to serve our disabled children. The disabled kindergarten will serve 3 different disabled groups. Our project, which has a certificate in accordance with the energy efficiency and energy conversion requirements designed by the American Green Building Council, will have an international feature for both Ankara and our country.”
