Considering that the number of metro wagons will increase with the commissioning of the Fahrettin Altay-Narlıdere Metro Line, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality organized a "tender for the construction of vehicle storage and maintenance facilities". Seven companies submitted bids for the facilities to be built in Narlıdere and Halkapınar.
Continuing the construction of Fahrettin Altay-Narlıdere Metro Line on the way to increase the share of rail systems in public transportation; İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, which was also awarded the tender for the construction of Üçyol-Buca Metro Line, made a tender for vehicle storage and maintenance facilities, considering that the number of metro wagons would increase.
Barankaya, Dido-Ray, Ermit Mühendislik, Gülermak, Kolin İnşaat, Neoray İnşaat and Yapı Merkezi companies submitted bids for the facilities planned to be built in Narlıdere and Halkapınar. The tender commission established within the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Rail Systems Department will evaluate offers ranging from 595 million TL to 939 million TL. Narlıdere facility will have a storage capacity of 140 wagons and Halkapınar facility will have a storage capacity of 115 wagons.
