Launched for the first time in 2004, Hyundai Tucson is now available in Turkey with its fourth generation. New Tucson with gasoline and diesel engine options draws attention with its Parametric Dynamic Design philosophy and technological comfort elements.

The new Tucson stands out as the first Hyundai SUV model developed in line with the brand's new "Sensuous Sportiness" design identity. In this design philosophy, the harmony between four basic elements is characterized, namely; proportion, architecture, style and technology. Produced with innovative technologies and solutions, Hyundai models aim to offer users a sensual and emotional touch.

“Sensuous Sportiness”, in other words “Emotional Sportiness”, undertakes to raise the emotional qualities of the design in automobiles as its mission.

Avoiding traditional drawing and sketching methods, Hyundai designers developed futuristic design elements of New Tucson through geometric algorithms produced with the latest digital technology. Known as “parametric dynamics,” this process uses lines, faces, angles and shapes created with digital data to create an unprecedented bold design aesthetic. As a result, these distinctive geometric patterns, known as "parametric jewels", appear throughout Tucson's design, giving it a more prominent character.

The most striking detail of these parametric jewelery is the "Parametric Hidden Headlights". The headlights, which provide a strong first impression, are located in the grille of the vehicle. When the headlights are turned off, the front of the vehicle turns completely black and dark. There is no difference between LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) integrated into the grid with geometric patterns and Parametric Headlights. Thanks to the state-of-the-art semi-mirror lighting technology, when the DRLs are turned on, the dark chrome appearance of the grille turns into jewel-like shapes and becomes an eye-catching one.

Parametric details are also a prominent design element on the side of the vehicle. Sculpted surfaces take on a very muscular and masculine structure with a stylish silhouette. The harsh and sharp lines create a striking contrast throughout the body, evoking forward movement even when standing still. The taut athletic shapes combine seamlessly with the angular plastic fender cover, where the wheels provide a strong and dynamic stance. While Tucson's sporty design lines start from the side mirrors and continue up to the C pillar, it is also highly emphasized by the edged, parabolic-shaped chrome glass frame.

The strongest part of Tucson is definitely the side, because when viewed from the side, the surrounding doors create a very solid character line with dynamic and angled wheel housings.

At the rear, the large taillights with parametric hidden details continue the design theme. The rear bumper of the new Tucson also integrates parametric pattern details with a sporty trim with a three-dimensional effect. The Tucson, the first Hyundai model to have hidden rear wipers placed under the spoiler, continues its high-tech design elements in its logo. Unlike traditional brand emblems, the Hyundai logo is presented in three dimensions. This smooth glass Hyundai logo, which does not protrude from the outer surface, is actually a detail that symbolizes the technology and dynamism of the vehicle in the best way.

Depending on the equipment, Hyundai Tucson features 18 and 19-inch wheels. These wheels, which reinforce the visual as well as driving dynamics, are an important detail that supports the bold lines on the side.

Fluent interior

The sophisticated and spacious interior of New Tucson resembles the room of a neatly organized house. While technology and comfort intersect harmoniously in the interior, it is inspired by the waterfalls. Continuous flowing, twin silver lines from the middle fascia to the rear doors are combined with premium plastic and leather trims.

There is a flawless digital integration in the interior, where many segment-leading technologies are used. While the new Tucson provides users with an advanced and fully customizable digital experience, it noticeably fills the center of the console, especially with its 10,25 inch touchscreen multimedia screen. It is quite enjoyable to listen to music in the system supported by 6 and 8 speakers depending on the hardware level.

Hyundai designers gave up physical buttons and traditional buttons and made equipment such as multimedia, ventilation and air conditioning controllable by touch. New Tucson, the first Hyundai model to have a full touch screen console, raises its look and feel to a new level with its high-quality soft-touch materials in the interior. Ventilation grilles start from the doors and flow towards the center console.

The change of Tucson's interior is of course not limited to these, but the car has a lower instrument panel, and a 10,25-inch digital display is included. The indicator, whose ground and character is not according to the driving modes, completely darkens when the engine is turned off. The large protrusion of the instrument panel wraps around the front passengers and blends in perfectly with the doors.

The ergonomically positioned armrest provides comfort for the intuitive use of the driver, while at the same time giving the vehicle a stylish and modern look, there is ambient lighting in the center console, two door pockets, wireless charging pad and map compartment. This lighting, which gives a different ambiance to the interior when driving at night, offers 64 different colors and 10 brightness levels.

Depending on the equipment, the new Tucson features fabric and leather upholstered seats in black and gray colors. These seats are heated in the front and rear at the highest equipment level, and there is also a cooling feature in the electric front seats at the highest equipment level.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, on the other hand, appear in Tucson just like other Hyundai models. With this technological feature, the functionality of smartphones is transferred to the multimedia screen in a simplified and convenient way. This feature can be used wirelessly with only the eight-inch screen. The center console features wireless charging, while at the same time, front and rear USB ports are designed for passengers for greater convenience on long journeys.

The new Tucson is equipped with a new segment-specific mid-side airbag. The new middle airbag used in the vehicle, which has a total of seven airbags, is used to prevent the front row passengers from colliding with each other and to minimize the risk of serious injury in the event of a possible collision.

Hyundai SmartSense security features

For added protection, the new Tucson is equipped with the latest Hyundai Smartsense active safety and driving assistance features. Among the new features, "Forward Collision Avoidance Assist with Junction Turn (FCA)", Blind Spot Monitoring Monitor (BVM) and Blind Spot Collision Prevention Assist (BCA) help drivers to protect themselves from potential dangers in daily use. Forward Collision Avoidance Assist with Junction Turn (FCA) is actually a kind of autonomous braking function. This system, which can also detect pedestrians and cyclists, helps prevent possible collisions at intersections when turning left.

Lane Keeping Assist (LFA) automatically adjusts the steering wheel to help center the vehicle in its lane. This system works in conjunction with an improved Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) feature that detects lines as well as roadsides. Blind Spot Collision Warning (BCW) also monitors the rear corners and gives a visual warning in the exterior rearview mirrors if another vehicle is detected.

Safe Exit Warning (SEW) gives instant warning if there is oncoming traffic while the driver or passenger is getting out of the vehicle. Rear Passenger Alert (ROA) is also Tucson's highlight. The rear seats are monitored by a sensor that detects movements. Visual and audible warnings are transmitted to the driver to enable them to remove passengers from the rear seats before leaving and locking the vehicle. If small children or pets are left in the vehicle, possible dangers are avoided. Vehicle Departure Warning (LVDA) also warns the driver when the vehicle in front of him starts to move in case of delay in movement at traffic lights.

Rear Cross Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW), on the other hand, gives warning with audible and visual warning, reducing the risk of collision with oncoming traffic when reversing from narrow areas with low visibility. The Rear Cross Traffic Collision Assist (RCCA) system also applies the brakes in the event of a risk of rear-end collision from crossing vehicles while reversing. Tucson has a 360 degree Surround View Monitor (SVM) depending on the hardware. This system allows drivers to control all four sides at the same time while parking with a 360-degree camera system. Driver Attention Alert (DAW) is also a protection feature developed to detect tired driving and prevent possible accidents, especially in long-term driving.

High Beam Assist (HBA) detects both oncoming vehicles and those ahead in the same lane at night and reduces disturbing effects on other drivers by switching to dipped beam accordingly.

The new Tucson is a model developed in Europe and specially tested for European users in this region. Endurance tests and dynamic tests at the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife, the world's toughest racetrack, Tucson also underwent a stringent pre-production process across Europe, from the coldest winter tests in Sweden to trailer tests in the Alps and hot weather tests in the south of Spain. .

Comfortable and sporty ride with new suspension system

Hyundai engineers developed a versatile driving mode based on road conditions and driver preference. While the Normal or Eco mode is suitable for daily use, it also focuses on a comfortable, straight and balanced ride even on the toughest roads. In Sport mode, an extra response is provided for a more dynamic and more rigid ride, while the shock absorbers use a new valve technology that offers more adjustment flexibility for a better ride. There is a MacPherson strut at the front and a multi-link suspension at the rear. This system provides the driver with the best level of comfort and handling.

HTRAC all-wheel drive technology developed by Hyundai is offered in New Tucson according to equipment and engine type. This traction system provides agile handling and better torque application depending on the road holding and vehicle speed. In addition to different driving modes, there are three types of off-road modes. Offering an improved driving experience in various road conditions as Mud, Sand and Snow, Tucson supports safety by optimizing its driving performance and HTRAC settings.
