In the CEV Continental Cup Beach Volleyball Tournament held in Izmir, the Turkish Men's National Team won the championship by defeating Latvia in the final match. Our national team took the championship cup from Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer.
Organized by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality with the Turkish Volleyball Federation and hosted by the CEV Continental Cup, the Turkish Men's Beach Volleyball National Team won the championship by defeating Latvia in the final.
Murat Giginoğlu-Volkan Göğtepe faced Aleksandrs Samoilovs-Janis Smedins in the first match of the final in the organization held at İnciraltı Sports Facilities. Our national team won the match that went to the tie-break set 2-1.
In the second match, when Safa Urlu-Selçuk Şekerci defeated Arturs Rinkevics-Ardis Bedritis 2-0, the national team managed to complete the organization in the first place.

Latvia came in second in the Izmir leg of the tournament where Turkey was the champion. Slovakia ranked third, Italy fourth and Lithuania fifth, qualifying for the Netherlands finals.
Safa Urlu-Selçuk Şekerci, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer, who watched the Arturs Rinkevics-Ardis Bedritis match, gave the championship cup of our national team together with the Deputy Chairman of TVF Alper Sedat Aslandaş at the award ceremony held after the final matches.
The awards of the other teams in the rankings were presented by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Ertuğrul Brigade, Balçova District Governor Ahmet Hamdi Usta, CEV Technical Delegate Christian Schemeth and Beach It Beach Sport Organizer Gürsel Yeşiltaş.
Greece, Poland, Finland, Czech Republic and Slovenia took the top 5 places in women. Both men and women will sweat to go to the Tokyo Olympics in the finals to be held in the Netherlands on June 23-26.
