87 films will be screened
In the sections of the festival program titled "My Life Music", "Music and Society", "Music Documentaries", "For Children of All Ages" and "Shorts from the Masters", 87 films will be screened along with feature films and short films about music and musicians.
“Crystal Flamingo” awards
The competition part of the festival will be held at national level only this year. Nine films that qualify for the competition will be screened at the open air cinema in Kültürpark. The festival awards will be called “Crystal Flamingo”. The producer of the best film will be provided with logistical support worth 40 TL by the Izmir Cinema Office, provided that at least 300.000 percent of the shooting of the next film is made in Izmir. İzelman A.Ş. The directors of the productions that received the best film and jury special awards, the best actress, the best actor, the composer of the best soundtrack and the best sound designer will be awarded 10 thousand lira each.
National Competition
The festival, directed by Vecdi Sayar, will be awarded the Best Film, Special Jury Award, Best Actress and Actress, Best Original Music, Best Original Movie Song and Best Sound Design in the context of the relationship between cinema and music. The Festival Jury was chaired by director Ezel Akay, actor Tülay Günal, known for his success in musical plays, musician-academician Prof. Berrak Taranch, composer Cem Idiz, academician-writer Prof. Oğuz Makal consists of songwriter Mehmet Teoman and an academic from the field of film music, Feyzi Erçin.
The soundtrack of TV series will also be rewarded.
Within the framework of the festival, there will be an evaluation in the field of television. The jury, which consists of TV critics Elçin Yahşi, Özlem Özdemir, Sina Koloğlu, Yazgülü Aldoğan, cinema writer Burak Göral, cinema and music writer Cumhur Canbazoğlu and composer Serdar Kalafatoğlu, It will give the Best Original Soundtrack and Best Original Song awards in two categories by evaluating the main theme music and songs of the TV series shown on the platforms. The Crystal Flamingo awards will be presented to the composers at the awards ceremony on July 2020st.
Respect for masters
On the first day of the festival, honorary awards will be given to three master composers of Turkish cinema, Yalçın Tura, Arif Erkin, Cahit Berkay and artist Hümeyra. A selection of films made by the masters will be shown in the section "Respect for Masters". Atilla Özdemiroğlu and Timur Selçuk, who are no longer with us, will be featured in the episode "Memories".
