Çamlıca Tower will be put into service tomorrow with a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu. Karaismailoğlu said, “Çamlıca Tower and its surroundings, the construction of which we started in 2017, has a total area of 30 thousand 150 square meters. It is the tallest structure in Istanbul with an altitude of 587 meters above sea level. The height of the reinforced concrete structure is 221 meters and the steel antenna height of the tower is 168 meters. In Camlica Tower, 27 thousand square meters of façade coating was carried out. "Çamlıca Tower, whose ground level is 218 meters, has 4 floors in total, with 45 floors under the ground and 49 floors above it."
At 62 thousand points that can be controlled separately in Çamlıca Tower lighting; 16,7 million shades used
Underlining that they have achieved another first in the field of broadcasting in the country thanks to Çamlıca Tower, Minister Karaismailoğlu noted that for the first time in the world, 100 FM radios can broadcast simultaneously from a communication tower.
Karaismailoğlu said, “From Çamlıca Tower, which was established with the aim of serving FM radio and TV channels broadcasting in Istanbul from a single tower, to FM radio broadcasters; Ready-made transmitter facility service, defined as 'antenna + coupler + transmitter device + electricity + generator backup + UPS + electronic maintenance and repair + broadcast monitoring on 7/24 basis' is offered. Our tower was built in accordance with the digital broadcasting infrastructure. For a while, 62 million color tones are used at 16,7 thousand points that can be controlled separately in the lighting of Çamlıca Tower, which Istanbul residents have enjoyed for a while. This system is possible thanks to the world's most comprehensive software ever made in its field, ”he said.
Çamlıca Tower will set the age of broadcasting in Turkey
Noting that the construction of the Çamlıca Tower changed the face of Çamlıca Hill, Minister Karaismailoğlu continued his words as follows:
“As you know, Çamlıca Hill and Istanbul lived in the shadow of an antenna dump for many years. We have successfully implemented our project with the awareness that we need to save Istanbul and Istanbulites from these antennas due to both visual pollution and electromagnetic effects harmful to human health. Together with the Çamlıca Tower, 33 large antennas scattered on Çamlıca Hill were dismantled and all services were collected in a single tower. Thanks to the highly efficient antenna and transmitter systems in the tower, maximum energy savings were achieved. We planted 30 trees of various types in the social areas around the 150 square meter tower. Camlica Tower surroundings are decorated with trees unique to Istanbul. Now, in the place of that old metal forest, there are redbuds, magnolias, hornbeams, cedars and olive trees. In other words, Çamlıca Tower has become an exemplary environmental project for the world, as it has survived the age of broadcasting in Turkey. "
We did not set up a single transmitter facility system only in Istanbul.
Minister Karaismailoğlu, who stated that they did not establish the "single transmitter facility" system only in Istanbul, said, “With a similar purpose in Çanakkale, the technical and social areas of the 2017-meter-high Radio and TV tower, whose construction started in 2020 and completed in 100, are also operated by Kule AŞ. As the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, we are establishing an infrastructure that exceeds world standards in human, freight and data transportation. We will continue to improve the quality of life of our people with many works and services worthy of Turkey's size and claim. " said.
