Hasan Pezük, General Manager of TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ, made examinations in Istanbul on Sunday, May 23, 2021 in high-speed train (YHT) and Marmaray.

Pezük, who examined YHT and Marmaray vehicles on site at various stations, stated that the common goal of railroaders was to provide the best service to the nation.

Pezük, within the scope of the Istanbul workplaces inspection trip; YHT visited Söğütlüçeşme station and received information about the services. Later, on the Marmaray line, Pezük examined the Ayrilik Fountain, Yenikapı, Kazlıçeşme stations and Marmaray vehicles on site and conveyed his greetings and love to the railroaders working in the Istanbul Region.

Reminding that the high-speed trains have served approximately 56 million 800 passengers since the day they were commissioned, Pezük said, “Our high-speed trains have been serving under pandemic conditions for almost one and a half years. In these conditions, the most important thing is to provide a healthy travel opportunity for our people. In this context, we meticulously ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of our high-speed trains and other trains. Currently, we offer a total of 50 trips per day with a capacity of 22 percent under pandemic conditions. It is certain that there will be significant increases in travel with YHT and Marmaray after the pandemic. Our efforts continue for the gradual normalization in our Istanbul Region and its aftermath. " said.

"285 trips a day are served in Marmaray"

Reminding that 544 million passengers have been transported in Marmaray, which provides uninterrupted rail transportation between Asia and Europe, since the day it was commissioned, Pezük underlined the following points: “Gebze-HalkalıWe make a total of 15 trips in Zeytinburnu-Maltepe inner and outer cycle at 285-minute intervals per day. The cleaning and hygiene of our Marmaray sets are also meticulously done. Although there is a decrease in the number of passengers due to the pandemic in Marmaray, which has become the heart of Istanbul's urban public transportation, we transport an average of 300 thousand people on days without restrictions. This figure was up to 500 thousand before the pandemic. After the pandemic, these numbers will multiply again. We make our preparations accordingly. Marmaray also provides service for freight transportation at times when there is no local transportation. An average of 4 freight trains pass. This number can increase. All these services require knowledge, experience as well as great attention and coordination. I congratulate my friends in the Istanbul Region. ”
