The Foundation of the First of the Bridges to be Built on the Canal Istanbul Route Will Be Started in June

Bridges will be built primarily in Kanal Istanbul Project, which will be Turkey's crazy project and the first dig will be hit next month.

Known as the project of the century, the first dig in Kanal Istanbul will be hit next month. The foundation of the first of the six bridges planned to be built on the canal route will be laid at the end of June. In the studies conducted so far, 100 bridges have been planned, including the D-20 connected to Büyükçekmece, the second to the TEM, the third to the Northern Marmara, the state road, the municipal road and the D-6 connection to the airport in the north. These bridges are planned to be built as double-storey, the ground floor has a departure and return rail system, and the upper floor is planned to be arranged for vehicles to pass.

While the total cost of Kanal Istanbul, including the bridges, is planned to be $ 15 billion, the water basins of Istanbul will be increased with the new two dams. After the tender process, the preparatory work before the canal construction will take about 1.5 years. Canal construction is expected to take 5.5 years. The completion period of the project is planned as 7 years.

In addition, the Channel Istanbul Administration Directorate will be established under the Ministry of Transport to carry out the Kanal Istanbul Project.
