Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank announced that TCL, which has joined forces with Arçelik, has started smartphone production in Tekirdağ.

PRODUCTION WITH TCL BRAND
Varank is located in Kapaklı district of Tekirdağ. Çerkezköy He visited the facility that started production with the TCL brand in OSB. GLOBAL BRANDS TO TURKEY
During the visit, Koç Holding Durable Goods Group President Fatih Kemal Ebiçlioğlu, TCL Europe President Frank Zhang, Arçelik Turkey General Manager Can Dinçer and TCL Mobil Turkey Country Manager Serhan Tunca briefed Minister Varank about the production facility and products. After examining the facility, he signed the mobile phones that came off the serial production line. Minister Varank, in his later evaluation, said that global brands in the smartphone market have started to attract their investments to Turkey.
CAPACITY 450 THOUSAND, TARGET 1 MILLION
Stating that the smartphone market continues to grow in the world and in Turkey, Varank said, “TCL has entered into a cooperation with Arçelik and they are producing together. The annual production capacity of this place is 450 thousand phones. Currently, production is carried out with the SKD system, but in the coming period, they will bring more parts to Turkey and assemble them with the CKD system, and they also have the intention to increase their production capacity to 2022 million phones in 1.” said.
THEY STRONG ALSO IN THE TELEVISION MARKET
Stating that TCL is an important brand both in China and globally, Varank said, “They are very strong especially in the LCD sector and television market. In Turkey, they are starting to operate in both the television and smart phone markets with their own production.” he said.

Noting that they provide a wide range of incentives and advantages to global brands and domestic manufacturers, Varank said, “We have the following advice to global brands: Don't just think about the Turkish market, think especially about exports from Turkey, and increase domestic suppliers to produce your brand in our country more efficiently and reduce your costs. In this way, benefit from the advantages of Turkey in your global market race.” said.

Explaining that different brands have plans to take actions in their investment strategies and their intention to increase their targets, Varank emphasized that as the ministry, together with other units of the government, global brands will do their best to further increase their technology investments in Turkey.

4 MODELS BY THE END OF THE YEAR
TCL Mobil Turkey Country Manager Tunca said, “With the encouragement of our Minister, we completed the test production of our first mobile phone. We are very excited to meet Turkish users with Arçelik's added value and TCL's technical capabilities. By the end of the year, we will have produced 4 mobile phone models in Turkey.” said.
