Turkey's first regional airport with flights in Victory, starting again after a period of over one year. In this context, a protocol was signed between Afyonkarahisar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Turkish Airlines. ATSO Board of Directors Chairman Hüsnü Serteser, THY Ankara Sales Manager Melih Torlak, Anadolu Jet Marketing and Sales Manager Murat Yağmur and Zafer Airport THY Station Chief Erhan Bulut attended the protocol signing ceremony held at the ATSO service building.

Commenting on the protocol ceremony, Hüsnü Serteser, Chairman of ATSO Board of Directors, said, “Today we have come together in a happy signing ceremony. Exactly two months ago, on February 15, 2021, under the presidency of our Governor of Afyonkarahisar Mr. Gökmen Çiçek, our Afyonkarahisar Deputies Att. Ali Özkaya and Att. İbrahim Yurdunuseven, Afyonkarahisar Mayor Mehmet Zeybek, Provincial General Assembly Chairman Mr. Burhanettin Çoban, ZAFTODER Chairman Ali Gümüşhan and myself, we visited our Chairman of the Board of Turkish Airlines Mr. İlker Aycı. As you know, the last flight from Zafer Airport was made on March 23, 2020 due to the pandemic and the flights were closed. Although flights across the country resumed in June 2020, flights from our Zafer Airport did not start. We visited İlker Bey for this. Thanks to their suggestions, a certain decision was made. We have been doing our work for two months. We will witness this happiness with our signing ceremony. Hopefully, before the Ramadan Feast, Istanbul flights will be started from Zafer Airport as of May 5, 2021. "The flights will take place 4 days a week," he said.

In his speech, Serteser thanked the city administrators who contributed to the signing of this protocol and continued as follows: “We took the floor from THY Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. İlker Aycı; According to the occupancy and utilization rates of the aircraft, they will increase the number of expedition days. Here, we expect support from our fellow townsmen in Afyonkarahisar, Kütahya, Uşak and abroad. The more we travel with these planes, the more the number of flights will increase. I would like to thank our Governor of Afyonkarahisar, Mr. Gökmen Çiçek. He made a great effort in this regard, as in all matters related to Afyonkarahisar. I would like to thank our dear members of parliament and our mayor, Mehmet Zeybek. Thanks to our esteemed Governor, our dear members of parliament and our dear Mayor, these voyages will begin. I would also like to thank our Chairman of the Board of Turkish Airlines, Mr. İlker Aycı. Everyone made sacrifices for these flights to take place. I would also like to thank the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, business people and hotel owners in our region. These flights come with some support; Some of us sacrificed, for the rest Turkish Airlines sacrificed. Together we have provided these flights. "

THY Ankara Sales Manager Melih Torlak said, “Good luck with our flights to Afyonkarahisar, Kütahya and Uşak. Hopefully, as of May 5th, our flights will start with 4 frequencies per week. The departure from Istanbul will be at 22:30 and the departure from Zafer Airport will be at 07:30. As our President said, if we fill our planes well, it will be beneficial for the continuation of our flights and the development of tourism in the region. We thank our dear President very much; "Good luck," he said.
