Van Metropolitan Municipality introduced 79 new service vehicles it added to its vehicle fleet to the press. The vehicles purchased with the own resources of the municipality and cost approximately 54 million 200 thousand TL have strengthened the public transportation and service fleet.

Adding value to the city with its citizen-focused efforts, the Metropolitan Municipality organized a promotional program for 54 buses and 25 construction machines, which it has recently added to its vehicle fleet, in order to increase its service quality and capacity. In addition to 40 low-floor 8,5 meters and 10 12 meters long public transportation vehicles suitable for disabled transportation, 4 Mercedes buses, 7 diggers and loaders, 3 irrigation vehicles, 1 paver asphalt paver and 2 rollers 5 double cabin vans, 2 funeral transport vehicles, 2 dump vans, 2 transit vehicles and 1 snow collector were put into service of the people of Van.

A ceremony was held in the Atatürk Culture Park campus for the vehicles purchased with the own resources of the Metropolitan Municipality. The Governor of Van and Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality Mehmet Emin Bilmez, the Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General Yüksel Yiğit, the Provincial Police Chief Atanur Aydın, the Secretary General of the Metropolitan Municipality Mehmet Fatih Çelikel, the General Manager of the Van Water and Sewerage Administration (VASKI) Ülker Cem Kaplan, the Provincial Mufti Ömer Keskin, Deputy Secretary General, Department Heads and provincial protocol attended.

Making the opening speech of the ceremony, Van Governor and Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality Mehmet Emin Bilmez stated that they have increased the service quality for the people of Van with the newly purchased vehicles and wished that the new vehicles will be used for beneficial services.

Stating that they are working with all their might to strengthen the vehicle fleet of the Metropolitan Municipality, Governor Bilmez said, “Our Van Metropolitan Municipality has expanded its vehicle fleet by purchasing 54 vehicles for 200 million 79 thousand TL with its own resources in order to increase its service quality and capacity. Today, we all experience the joy of putting these vehicles into service. Our newly purchased vehicles will primarily provide a great relief in public transportation, which is very important for us. Our low-floor 40 meters and 8,5 10 meters long public transportation vehicles that will be put into service today will ease the burden of our different neighborhoods. In addition, we are putting into service 12 Mercedes buses that will operate between Kapıköy and Van on our Iranian border. These buses will be constantly in the ring and will carry the tourists who enter from Kapıköy Border Gate to our city and citizens who will go to the border gate from our province. In addition, we add strength to the fleet of our construction machinery so that our city can have a more livable and modern city view. We recently purchased 4 diggers and loaders, 7 irrigation vehicles, 3 Finisher asphalt paving machine produced with the latest technology, 1 cylinders, 2 double cabins, 5 funeral transport vehicles, 2 dump vans, 2 transit vehicles and We will provide our services in a better quality with 2 snow collector ”.
