The CEV Continental Cup, where the countries that will participate in the Tokyo Olympics in beach volleyball will be determined, will be held in İnciraltı, hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, between May 6-9.
Hosting the BVA Balkan Beach Volleyball Championship first and then the European U22 and U18 Beach Volleyball Championship in the last two years, İzmir also organizes the CEV Continental Cup. The CEV Continental Cup, which is the second round of European Continental Qualification for Tokyo Olympics between 23 July and 8 August, will be organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. The giant organization between May 6-9 will be held in İnciraltı Sports Facilities in accordance with pandemic rules.
A total of 16 teams for men and women
In women, Serbia, Slovenia, Poland, Greece, Finland, Czechia and Belarus, in men, Slovenia, Lithuania, Italy, Hungary, Latvia, Estonia and England will compete in addition to Turkey. Countries that completed their groups in the top five in the CEV Continental Cup, which will feature a total of 64 athletes, will receive the final ticket. The finals will be held in the Netherlands in June.

There is the European Championship in July
Izmir Metropolitan Belediyespor President Ersan Odaman underlined that the CEV Continental Cup is a very important organization in the international arena, “Athletes who are ranked in Izmir will, in a sense, participate in the Tokyo Olympics. Tokyo road will pass through Izmir. In July, we will host the U20 European Beach Volleyball Championship in our city.
