Adana, the Republic of Turkey on the train accident occurred in the town of Pozantı State Railways (TCDD) made a statement.

The written statement made by TCDD is as follows; “Today, on April 14, 2021, due to the breakdown of the locomotive of the freight train carrying containers from Boğazköprü to Mersin, it stopped at the entrance of Pozantı Station at 07.05.

The freight train from Konya to Mersin was instructed to push the defective train to Pozantı Station in order to open the road by pushing the remaining train to Pozantı Station by the controller managing the train traffic.

At 07.25 am, the freight train approaching to push the defective train to the station crashed into the empty wagons of the waiting freight train from behind due to the driver's failure to stop.

As a result of the crash, the locomotive and 7 wagons were damaged, 2 mechanics were slightly injured.
