While the Marathon ended with the best score of the Ethiopian athlete Tsegaye Getachew in the history of the Turkish marathon at 2.09.35, the athletes who were placed in the competition received their trophies at a ceremony held in Kültür Park. The mugs are made from recycled materials for a sustainable world.

The athletes ranking the highest in Marathon İzmir received their trophies at a ceremony held in Kültür Park. The mugs were prepared from recycled materials in accordance with Maratonİzmir's theme of “Run for a sustainable world”.

42 kilometers Getachew men first award to Turkey Athletics Federation Vice President Ali Aksu, the first Kenyan women Betelhe I MOGESAN to the award Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Chairman Mustafa Özusl was presented.

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Ertuğrul Brigade gave the cup to Roncer Kipkorir, who first reached the finish in 10 kilometers, and Murat Eskici, İzmir Youth and Sports Provincial Director, to Stella Rutto, who came first in women.

Made with pandemic measures

Turkey international maratonizmir the second condition for obtaining the best result so far was done with pandemic measures. Access to the event area in Kültürpark was allowed from a single point. Fire measurements of everyone who entered the racing area were taken. In the area created for warm-up, distances of 1.5 meters have been reserved for the competitors. In the marathon, the starts were given in groups of four, leaving a distance of 5 seconds each. The distance between each group was kept as 5 meters. Litter boxes were placed after the starting point for the competitors to throw away their masks. At the end, new masks were given to the runners.
