While the Marathon ended with the best score of the Ethiopian athlete Tsegaye Getachew in the history of the Turkish marathon at 2.09.35, the athletes who were placed in the competition received their trophies at a ceremony held in Kültür Park. Made with pandemic measures
Turkey international maratonizmir the second condition for obtaining the best result so far was done with pandemic measures. Access to the event area in Kültürpark was allowed from a single point. Fire measurements of everyone who entered the racing area were taken. In the area created for warm-up, distances of 1.5 meters have been reserved for the competitors. In the marathon, the starts were given in groups of four, leaving a distance of 5 seconds each. The distance between each group was kept as 5 meters. Litter boxes were placed after the starting point for the competitors to throw away their masks. At the end, new masks were given to the runners.
