Lifelong Learning Neighborhood Application Starts

With the “Lifelong Learning Neighborhood” practice, public education center courses will be moved to every neighborhood. This year pilot will begin in Istanbul, Turkey in 2021-2022 will be implemented throughout the academic year. National Education Minister Ziya Selçuk, who announced that public education courses will be opened in at least one school selected in approximately 32 thousand neighborhoods throughout the country within the scope of the application, invited all citizens from 7 to 70 to these courses.

With the "Lifelong Learning Neighborhood" practice, it is aimed to improve employment, to contribute to the economy by creating a qualified workforce, and to closely monitor the developments in people's profession.

Stating that in the rapidly changing world, citizens need new knowledge as well as the knowledge they acquire in their youth, the Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk stated that it is possible for individuals to renew themselves through lifelong education.

Within the scope of the application, a commission will be established within the provincial and district national education directorates in approximately 32 thousand neighborhoods throughout the country. The mukhtars will also take part in the commission to represent the residents of the neighborhood. Official basic education and secondary education schools will be determined as course centers.

Stating that they started the practice with the slogan of “A Neighborhood Learning Lifelong”, Minister Selçuk announced that public education courses will be opened in at least one school selected from each neighborhood in a way that will not disrupt formal education. Stating that these schools will be the branches of public education centers, Selçuk continued as follows:

"A total of 995 public education, including at least one in each district center in Turkey, we continue our activities with the 24 courses in 73 areas with 3636-ripening varieties institute. Our citizens in our districts with a high population density and large geography may have problems with access to the public education center. We are launching our "Lifelong Learning Neighborhood" application from Istanbul, giving priority to the needs, interests and wishes of our citizens who cannot access our courses. We invite all 7 to 70 next year the project will spread to all citizens of Turkey will open our courses in our neighborhood. "
