The two 2020 winners of the UNESCO-King Hamad Bin Isa-Al Khalifa award are the programs of China and Finland for the use of information and communication technologies in education. China's award-winning program is "One College Student Per Village" (one college student from each village) that employs artificial intelligence to support the continuity and quality of education.

The "One College Student Per Village" program, run by the China Open University, uses artificial intelligence to provide quality learning opportunities to rural students. Program; It works through an artificial intelligence platform that analyzes the sound and meaning, and automatically grades the compositions and automatic responses. In 2020, 3 students enrolled in 735 centers across the country benefited from the program.

Both award-winning programs were selected from applications submitted by UNESCO member countries and other partner units upon the recommendation of an international jury of experts. Established in 2005 and supported by the Emirate of Bahrain, the award annually rewards individuals and organizations that use digital technologies to support education, training, and education in its entirety. In fact, the award, beyond its monetary value, also provides the winners with international recognition and recognition as innovators using digital technologies in education.
