French airline Corsair hired the first A330-900 from Avolon to add to its fleet. Corsair is implementing its strategy of becoming an all-A330 operator, buying a total of five A330neos. Thanks to the latest technologies of the A330neo, the Corsair will benefit from cost-effective and eco-efficient solutions, while providing the best comfort standards to passengers in the quietest cabins in its class.
The aircraft features 352 seats in a three-class layout, providing all the comfort and amenities of Airbus' premier 'Airspace' cabin, including state-of-the-art inflight entertainment (IFE) and full WiFi connectivity throughout the cabin.
The A330neo is powered by Rolls-Royce's cutting-edge Trent 7000 engines. The Corsair aircraft is also the first A251neo with a maximum take-off weight of 330 tons. This feature allows the airline to fly to long-range destinations of up to 13.400 km (7.200 nm) or carry more than ten tons of cargo on the plane.
The A330neo is a new generation aircraft, but a new member of the extremely popular A330ceo wide-body family. In addition to the new engine option, the aircraft benefits from a number of innovations such as new wings and winglets that contribute to 25% fuel savings and CO2 reduction, along with aerodynamic improvements.
Corsair currently operates an Airbus fleet of five A330 Family aircraft, as a member of Airbus Skywise 'Open Data Platform in 2020; It utilizes various Skywise-based services such as fleet performance analysis capability (aircraft health tracking), reliability analysis and maintenance schedules.
