IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu, taking advantage of the curfew, made investigations on the Eminönü-Alibeyköy Tram Line and its surroundings. Giving the good news that the Eminönü-Alibeyköy Tram Line will end in 2022, İmamoğlu said, “We want the Golden Horn to turn into a transportation axis. We want it to be a pleasant transportation area. At the same time, by increasing the parking capacity in the section close to the tram, they leave their cars there and travel to Eminönü by tram; We want them to continue with our metro line from there, perhaps to Sultanahmet, other regions, and even Beyoğlu.”

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) President Ekrem İmamoğlu, on the approximately 10-kilometer line, "Eminönü-Alibeyköy Tram Line and Golden Horn Region Regional Planning and Landscape Studies Field Trip". The inspection tour, which started at Unkapanı Bridge, was completed at Alibeyköy Cep Bus Terminal. İmamoğlu, who completed the 7-kilometer part of the tour by taking approximately 10 thousand steps, even received information from the managers of the İBB affiliates and units that will work. IMM Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat, Gürkan Alpay, IMM Rail System Department Head Pelin Alpkökin, Cultural Heritage Department Head Oktay Özel, Park Garden and Green Area Department Head Çağatay Seçkin, Science Affairs Department Head Recep Korkut, İSKİ General Manager Raif Mermutlu and City Lines General Manager Sinem Dedetaş informed İmamoğlu about the works done and to be done along the line.

"2022 ON THIS LINE IS FULL OF SURPRISES"

İmamoğlu and the accompanying delegation, walking from Unkapanı to Balat, examined the institutional productions along the way and visited historical buildings. İmamoğlu, who took a breather at the Balat Tramway Station construction site for a while, also made his assessment of the inspection tour on the Golden Horn shore. Saying, "Maybe we are walking the most important line of 2021 and 2022", İmamoğlu said:

“We have arrangements from Eminönü to Alibeyköy, including the Golden Horn shores. We have the completion work of our tram line, which will continue from Cibali to Eminönü. Of course, here, at the Atatürk Bridge, at the junction we get on in Unkapanı, there is a matter of renewing the overpass, which has become very weak, and we have a tram line that will pass under the bridge. İSKİ also has displacement issues here. We plan the calendar and work schedule of all these well. We came together with our institutions today. With a strengthened bridge and sunk-out, our tram line continuing to Eminönü and the landscaping of its immediate surroundings continues. Landscape work of Eminönü is also among these works. When we really look at the visuals, I hope we will experience a very big 2021-degree change from Unkapanı to Eminönü in 2022 and 180. 2022 is full of surprises for us on this line. ”

"1 MILLION SQUARE METER WORK"

Emphasizing that they are actively working on a 1 million square meter line on the shores of the Golden Horn, İmamoğlu said, “This includes our museum work in Feshane, the arrangements of sports fields, and the completion of the landscape with an identity. We create a continuous line by bicycle along the Golden Horn coast. We create a pedestrian axle. We carefully collect the touristic areas. Because at the same time, we will be using the Golden Horn as a transportation axis with the new museums built on the opposite shore, in Beyoğlu, and the areas we will develop in the shipyard that has been going on for a long time. Of course, we don't just stop there. We visited the Balat shores today. Unfortunately, we have historical sites that have been left in a very bad condition for many years. I also visited their restoration and functioning works with identity. There are really surprising areas. "We are in the goal of developing our fields and that surface," he said.

"WE WILL SHARE THE PROCESS WITH CITIZENS"

Saying, "We will do the timing and planning well and share this whole process with our citizens," said İmamoğlu, "We will share the full calendar of our work in İSKİ, Science Works, Rail Systems, Park Gardens, especially in Unkapanı. I hope we will not tire our citizens ”. Giving the good news that the Eminönü-Alibeyköy Tram Line will end in 2022, İmamoğlu said, “We want the Golden Horn to turn into a transportation axis. We want it to be a pleasant transportation surface. At the same time, they increased their parking capacity in the area close to the tram, leaving their cars there and traveling to Eminönü by tram; "We want them to continue with our metro line from there, maybe to Sultanahmet, to other regions, or even to Beyoğlu."

"WALKING IN RAMADAN IS MORE EFFICIENT"

Emphasizing that the process designed and carried out in a holistic way will both cause relaxation in the districts on the line and have positive results in terms of tourism, İmamoğlu said, “We spent a really enjoyable Saturday by walking for hours, seeing their places, and seeing the good planning and good performances of my colleagues. Hopefully, with the same performance in practice, we will have given good news on 21 and 22 axes to Fatih and Eyüpsultan districts. Walking and working are more productive in Ramadan. We had a pleasant walk with my friends. When you walk with work, you forget the number of steps. That is why there are days ahead of us when we produce a lot of work and take full steps, not empty steps ”.

He took a photo in front of the flags of April 23

Completing the next part of his study tour, either by walking or by getting on the tram, İmamoğlu took a souvenir photo at Balat Station, one of the areas decorated with flags as part of the 23st anniversary celebrations of April 101rd.
