The General Authorized Union "Transportation Memur-Sen" held a regional organization meeting in Istanbul. President Kenan Çalışkan and Vice Presidents Mehmet Yıldırım, İbrahim Uslu and Tümer Gümüş, İstanbul Branch No.1 Head Mustafa Tamtam and İstanbul Branch Number 3 President Ayhan Yıldız and Board Members, together with TCDD, Haydarpaşa and Board Members in Haydarpaşa Tuzla Port Authorities and the Ministry of Transport visited Managers and Employees in their workplaces and exchanged views.
The meeting in Istanbul was attended by Transport Officer-Sen President Kenan Çalışkan and Vice Presidents Mehmet Yıldırım, İbrahim Uslu and Tümer Gümüş, as well as Mustafa Tamtam, Head of Branch No.1 in Istanbul and Ayhan Yıldız, Head of Branch No.3 in Istanbul. Provincial Representatives of Istanbul and its neighboring provinces, members of the Organization and TCDD employees attended the organization.
Upon the uncertainty about the restructuring process of the railways and conveying their concerns to the President Çalışkan, Çalışkan informed the railway employees about the issue.
As a union, we are the job security of the civil servant, and we are against the Holding of TCDD.
Speaking about the questions of railway employees, Transport Officer-Sen President Kenan Çalışkan said, “With the Railway Liberalization Law No. 2013 adopted in 6461, a restructuring was made in the railways at that time. We see that the same scenarios that were spoken in 2013 are now spoken again. Transportation Officer-Sen is the job security of the Officer today, as it was in 2013, he said.
Çalışkan stated that the Civil Service regime in Railways cannot be abolished, Transport Officer-Sen will not hesitate to use its power from production for the rights of Railways, if necessary, saying, “For this reason, the planned structuring should be planned in a way that does not compromise the job security and acquired rights of Railways. Underlining the words “Railroaders' Job Security is Our Red Line”, Çalışkan also said, “Civil Servants and Workers have been working side by side in TCDD for 164 years. This form of employment should be continued intact, and TCDD's Holding should be abandoned ”, he said.
Our negotiations with political and bureaucratic channels will continue until our demands are met.
President Çalışkan said that they held a meeting with the General Managers of the relevant institutions at the Ministry of Transport as the union management, met with Presidency Chief Advisor Vedat Bilgin and Transport Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu and Personnel General Manager Leyla Akıncı, Ak Party Deputy Chairman Numan Kurtulmuş and Labor Minister Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk. He also stated that they gave information in the company of Memur-Sen Chairman Ali Yalçın, and that they brought the issue to the agenda in the KPDK meeting held with the Minister of Labor the previous week, and that they conveyed the concerns of the employees to the interlocutors in all meetings.
Çalışkan also stated that Railway employees convey their concerns and demands to them at all meetings throughout the country, and that the employees have a duty to convey their concerns and demands to the Political and Bureaucratic authorities, to protect the job security of the railway personnel and not to compromise their acquired rights and to prevent TCDD from being Holding. He stated that the negotiations will continue until a result is achieved with the political and bureaucratic authorities.

Chairman Çalışkan and members of the Board of Directors and accompanying organization members also paid a courtesy visit to Memur-Sen Istanbul Provincial Representative Talat Yavuz. Chairman Çalışkan exchanged information with Provincial Representative Yavuz on the Syndical agenda.
