The cafeteria built with the financial support of AKKUYU NÜKLEER A.Ş. Opening of the building, Yunus Emre, District Governor of Gülnar Bayraklı, Gülnar District Education Manager Hüseyin Kadim and AKKUYU NÜKLEER A.Ş. was held with a ceremony attended by management representatives.
Speaking at the ceremony, Gülnar District Governor Yunus Emre Bayraklı: “Akkuyu NPP construction site is located next to Büyükeceli neighborhood, but all residents of Gülnar district see the positive effects of the implementation of the project in our region. As of now, the cafeteria where the food service of all primary and secondary school students will be organized, has been built, the water treatment facilities have been repaired and even the roof of the school building has been repaired. I would like to thank AKKUYU NÜKLEER A.Ş. for their support to our educational institutions ”.
Gülnar District Education Director Hüseyin Kadim said: “A fine dining hall was built in our school with the financial support of AKKUYU NÜKLEER A.Ş. Soon, students' food service will be organized here. In addition, we managed to solve another important problem with the money allocated and we had the sewerage system of our school repaired. I would like to thank AKKUYU NÜKLEER A.Ş. on behalf of all the people of Gülnar district for their support to our educational institutions ”.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, AKKUYU NÜKLEER A.Ş. Regional Communication Department Expert Eyüp Lütfi Sarıcı said: “We congratulate the management and students of the school for the opening of the cafeteria. I would like to tell the young generation: a nuclear power plant based on the most modern technologies is being built in our district. In addition, it will give us stable electricity for more than 60 years and it will open up great opportunities for us. Opportunities for education come first. We hope that you will read it resolutely and use your knowledge for the welfare of our country in the future ”.
After the speeches, the students recited poetry and performed a dance show. The event was held in accordance with the measures taken within the scope of the pandemic and social distance rules.
AKKUYU NÜKLEER A.Ş. continuously carries out its charitable activities to support the region where the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant is being built. Last year, the Company gave donation certificates to Silifke State Hospital, Büyükeceli Family Health Center and Büyükeceli Primary and Secondary School. On the occasion of the start of the new academic year, Gülnar transferred a donation certificate amounting to 372 thousand TL to the District Directorate of National Education for various needs of schools in Gülnar district, from the renewal of the classes to the supply of sports equipment.
