The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services imposed a qualification certificate requirement for 40 professions, including electrical installer, electricity and natural gas meter disassembly and assembly personnel, cement production staff, medical waste collector, marble natural stone quarry and underground preparation worker. .

The Vocational Qualifications Authority (MYK), which fulfills its mission to ensure the harmony between education and employment, continues to provide standards for professions and documents for employees in order to create qualified human resources. In this direction, the Institution, which has the condition of certified employees in 143 occupations in the "dangerous" and "very dangerous" classes in the high risk group in terms of occupational accidents, has introduced a document requirement for 40 more professions with the contribution of its stakeholders.

Accordingly, professions in mining and energy sectors, especially; Those who do not have Professional Competence Certificate will not be able to work in 40 professions, including electrical installers, electricity and natural gas meter disassembly and assembly personnel, cement production personnel, marble natural stone quarry and underground preparation workers.

Occupational Accidents Decreased By 25 Percent With Document Requirement

The Vocational Qualification Requirement, which aims to minimize occupational accidents and to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in production, has been implemented since 2015. Occupational accidents decreased by 25 percent in "dangerous" and "very dangerous" occupations, thanks to the requirement of documentation. With 40 newly added professions, the number of professions in the "dangerous" and "very dangerous" classes and having a Vocational Competence Certificate increased to 183.

1 Billion 120 Million Liras Was Paid for Exam and Document

Exam and certification fees are covered by the Unemployment Insurance Fund for documents that do not impose additional financial burden on employees. In this context, a total of 1 billion 200 million 1 thousand TL has been paid for 120 million 574 thousand certified employees so far.

As of April 2021, VQA has given Vocational Qualification Certificates to 1 million 366 thousand employees, 1 million 575 thousand of whom are in the professions requiring certification.
